Liz Phair – X-Ray Man Lyrics

To me, this song has always been about a boyfriend whose mind was a little more on the perverted side. Because of this, he's never satisfied with just one girl - he always wants a little more. |

The Jesus and Mary Chain – Everybody I Know Lyrics

|
To me, this song is about a man who is suffering from the poor mistakes of his past. The memories of everything that he's ever said and done cause him to spin out of control and unintentionally harm others. |

WILD FLAG – Future Crimes Lyrics

I always assumed this was about someone turning over a new leaf, and their struggle to stay pure and good even though their evil intentions are still nagging at them. |

Excuse 17 – The Drop Dead Look Lyrics

I always assumed this was a song about the fashion industry. How they mold girls into these small sizes, control their lives to the point where they're practically withering away. And these huge fashion industry hot-shots lure them into doing it, promising them that they're going to be "big" as long as they follow their rules. |

The Horrors – Sheena Is A Parasite Lyrics

I love the Ramones, so when people walk around with those t-shirts and claim that their favorite song by them is Blitzkrieg Bop, I get super pissed. I get even more pissed when I realize the people wearing those shirts are the same people who like listening to Black Veil Brides and Bullet For My Valentine. I mean, really? |

The Horrors – Sheena Is A Parasite Lyrics
| 12 years ago
|
I think it's about modern American punk, and how no one seems to appreciate it as much as they used to (hence the lines 'send her back across the sea' and 'if she was buried, no one would care'). Sheena was obviously from the Ramones song, and the Ramones were one of the greatest triumphs in American punk rock history.
Anyway, that's what I get from it. Cool song. |

Before she sung this Echo cover she said it was dedicated to her first crush. Haha. 'I've got a handful of shit...' |

This is officially the most embarrassing yet catchy song on my iPod. |

The Butchies – I Hate.Com Lyrics
|
These lyrics don't really make much sense, but judging by the title (Ihate.com) and some of the lines ("I'm not the only one who sits outside in the sun") it's about getting off your feet and doing something, instead of wasting away on the Internet. "Freedom is not anarchy".
I love the Butchies. |

Bikini Kill – Bloody Ice Cream Lyrics

I totally take back the last comment I made. This is about the "Sylvia Plath effect" - basically, it states that women writers have a higher risk of suicide (Sylvia Plath killed herself by putting her head in an oven.) Kathleen's opposing that by saying that women writers don't have to go down that path. |

Hole – Pretty On The Inside Lyrics

This song is about beauty, and how someone can be strikingly beautiful on the outside but extremely hostile and ugly on the inside. Almost like celebrities, how they look so perfect, you'd never expect that anything was wrong. |

Hole – Your Empathy Lyrics

Even if this song wasn't written about Kurt, it could still apply to him in some way. Kurt was huge on the empathy thing, at least from what I've read. He was a very empathetic person.
From the lines "Your empathy / Inside of me / I want you / Inside of me" it sounds like she's talking about having sex with Kurt, although it could be talking about anyone, really. |

This is probably the only "gangsta rap" song I will ever like. |

Yeah. "I Wanna Know What Love Is" by Julie Ruin. Not my favorite Julie Ruin song, but the ending is killer. |

The Smashing Pumpkins – Disarm Lyrics

I think it's about a boy who was abused sexually as a child, and his attacker "disarmed him with a smile" and left him to "wither in denial". That's the way I see it, anyways. Makes sense. |

Unwound – Dragnalus Lyrics

It's about being apathetic and dull towards life and living in a world of repitition and boredom... or at least that's what I got out of it. Love this song. |
