The Smashing Pumpkins – Frail and Bedazzled Lyrics 13 years ago
So few comments on this awesome track!? So simple, but so powerful (love the ending!.

I think it certainly has to do with some sort of relationship where the character is dealing with fame and love simultaneously, while having to put on a face (e.g. "Stole my smile/from a cheshire cat") to "please" both parties--though the character is unsure/tried (or "frail") of his persona and willing to mask (or "bedazzle") it until he finds confidence in himself and the very different entities he is apart of.

I wish Billy would have released Pisces Iscariot (minus the covers--although they are superb, too) as a stand-alone album. The "B-Sides" that comprise it are far well-written enough to make up a third album prior to MCIS--even in the order they are on the disc, in my honest opinion.

What completes this already-great song and masterpiece of an album is the coda played on piano that fades out to end the album. If you haven't already noticed, it mimics the chord progression in Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (the opening track) but a couple steps higher...

I know, not much on song "meaning," but I am fascinated with how great albums begin and end. And this album is no exception, as the ending bit leaves you right where you began--albeit, with a feeling like you've just got off the world's largest emotional rollercoaster and it was the most exhilirating experience of your life.
