I believe this song is about to coming to grips with our own mortality and realizing that we can change and make a difference in our life. The first part is saying we must take 100% responsibility for our lives. Nobody else will fight for us so we must do it alone. The chorus is interesting as I believe he is trying to relay the message that each and every day we're slowly approaching our own death("on broken wings I'm falling"). He is "on his knees" trying to find the meaning of his existence. We define our own lives and we must be the ones to make the change. We are slowly fading and soon only the memories of us will live on. |
