,Its been said many times, by Chris himself, he was somewhat of a shut in. The Day I Tried To Live, was actually about Chris trying to get out and "be normal". These are signs of a drug user, I should know. I feel Tighter & Tighter is primarily about addiction which leads to loss, the lyrics tend to lead me to believe him being fucked up on something hard, leaving his girl alone to sleepwhile he smokes whatever he does to get "gone". Coolest song...

Probably about Jarboe, Gira's former lover/ partner of the Swans. So different than past works by Gira but still as powerful. Great to see Swans are back together, even without Jarboe.

My very favorite Swans song. I always felt it had an uncomfortable attachment feel to it. " hide myself deep inside, your crimson pool" maybe a menstrual, a motherly type of nightmarish feel.

Such a raw song. Heavier than 90 percent of the garbage out now. Gira also wrote a book which is...dark...bleak...to say the very least. Great beat as well

Yes. Actually if you look up a swans documentary, Michael gira discusses his curiosity with Nilsen. Long live the Swans and their fantastic music. They were a huge influence of such modern rock acts as Nine Inch Nails and Tool, but I feel Swans were certainly more genuine.
