I totally feel the same way! What's their magic? No other music hooked me like theirs
Someone above explained their structure chords are typical rock chords, but why so much musical and emotional landscapes in their songs, and yet at times very simple. I do find their transition is differently profound, and the voice of Thom Yorke. One of the most emotionally charged voice in music history even when he whispers and chirps. |

I just bought "Hail to the Thief". I love this album. Now I don't understand why Thom wasn't quite happy with this one, he intentionally did "Eraser", hoping to undo this album.
Every time when I bought a Radiohead album, I thought this is my favorite one, until I bought the next one, and the result is I love them all, except haven't bought Amnesia.
Great artist/musician like Radiohead only comes once every quarter of a century, their music are already considered modern classic by serious art/music community. |

I still believe in certain "altruism" is necessary. Sure if I see a person's drowning, but I can't swim, I won't kill myself blindly just because altruism sounds righteous. But if I can see peace, non destructive freedom and harmony ahead of me, I'm willing to adapt for my and others' survival. |

Love your discussion on this song. If we could all see ourselves just another organism trying to survive, and we will truly understand the calls for reversing polluting our environment. Environmentalists are always being criticized and mocked as "tree huggers", but their basic motivation is "survival" with far sided vision, not just eat the fish today with luck, but able to catch fish tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and etc......
Unfortunately, plenty people cares only about survival for the moment, and for that, we might drive ourselves into distinction.
