LOL!
That told randomer we don't know!
I love Morrissey, he's just awesome. Yes, i am a TEENAGE MORRISSEY FANGIRL IN 2010!
And my mother struggled to get used to the fact that I was a fan of Pat Benetar.
God, I can't remember any of her songs now. I loved her when i was four. Well, mum, get used to Moz!
The Moz for PM!
Shit, can you imagine? We'd all be veggies!
this is what my friend and i have been trying to do for ages! Turn others into veggies! Moz for PM is my new thing!

The Smiths – Margaret on the Guillotine Lyrics 13 years ago
Actually, I retract my statement that the British public are stupid, because a) I am part of the british public (although i am under 18, so that may be somewhat irrelevant) and b) because it is, to some degree, politically incorrect, or may be considered so.
The rest of what I'd put there still stands though.

This is, as it has been pointed out, is a Morrisey song. not the bloody Smtihs, twats!
I am a Labour supporter, always have been. Love the lyrics of this, haven't heard the song itself.
Had his house search upon the songs release? Ladies and gentlemen, may i present to you;

THE BRITISH PUBLIC!!!!!!

Such a stupid bunch of people, I know, but this is how we are.

I love how Morrissey never hesitates to say what he thinks.

The Smiths – Meat Is Murder Lyrics 13 years ago
My computer is drugged up and i replied to the wwrong comment there.
Pertaining to your remark:
IcelandSnow1 put it perfectly. If there was low enough demand for meat, nobody would produce it.
I hate it when people make comments like that about how 'meat tastes nice, so lets have it regardless of the cruel, immoral porcess involved' because it's so ignorant. It's like saying 'okay, so I don't think it's right to kill but I'm selfish enough to put my desires ahead of my morals.' ust my opinion :)

I was veggie before I heard this too, but my nan kept saying it was just because my friends were veggies. She kept telling people that my friend were veggies in a way that implied that I only did it because my friends did.
I would love to play her this song. She wouldn't become a veggie if she did hear it, but it would be funny to see her reaction.
And that's why she hates The Smiths. Or so I remarked the other day. I think she took it the wrong way.
I do geuinely think she can't cope with radical, political activists who have an opinion on everything. Only because she's too stupid to have any opinions at all.
Sorry, I'm just boring you to death & slagging off my grandmother now.
Sorry.

Very. Immeasurably. And I say that as though I was one of you carnivorous freaks, and not just as a vegetarian.
So wrong.

The Smiths – Bigmouth Strikes Again Lyrics 13 years ago
I love this song. I hate placebo's version, but I'm not bashing because it's the only thing that i've heard of theirs. I do love The Smiths, and have only just discovered them (I wasn't alive when they were popular) and am only just recovering from the shock of their split (23 years! 23 years!) The teenagers of the world can chase after their R-Patz and crap, but I'm a Morrissey fangirl. Possibly the youngest currently in existance. It's wrong, I know. Screw the age gap, I have issues. I'm actually quite precocious, so my taste in music is what many consider strange.
I love Moz, he's ace.
MMS, Smiths fan and animal rights supporter respectively.
Oh, the song interpretation? It's clear, isn't it? It's just about those moments where you say things you wish you hadn't, and what you say gets you into predicaments that you, quite franky, would rather not be in.

Nirvana – Been a Son Lyrics 13 years ago
I have to admit that I am slightly scared of Courtney Love, but I do think that people are a little harsh on her, considering her husband died at a time when she had severe drug problems (this still being the case I cannot confirm) and that her daughter was going to be taken away from her, I just think she deserves a little compassion.

Nirvana – Aneurysm Lyrics 13 years ago
It's about the drugs. Definitely about the drugs. But it also personifies the drugs, 'She gives the pumping straight to my heart', which refers to how much control the drugs have on him.
'Come on over and do the twist'
this could be one of two things - referring to someone he does drugs with (was this written at the time when he knew Courtney?) and 'the twist' is a euphemism for the drugs.
Or it could be like he wants the effects he gets from the drugs, like he's asking for the feeling the drugs give him.
'Come on over and share the s**t'
which is actually what the lyric is, by the way. I think it's either, again, about someone he takes drugs with, but could also be like the drugs are eating away at him, and he's inviting this.

Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics 13 years ago
I think it's the rape victim who is too scared to fight so she kind of let him, in her struggle, but she knows she's not the first and that other people have been through this. It's also kind of like her f**k you - like she's saying 'do it, rape me, cause one day you will get yours'

Nirvana – Heart-Shaped Box Lyrics 13 years ago
I never liked eminem, but that is f**king sick. Not even funny, just sick. She should have him for that. Sick little f**k.
Personally, with all due respect, I think Courtney has every right not to let them release stuff. At the end of the day he was her husband and the father of her daughter and all that.
Seriously, that eminem thing is f**ked up.

This is about something her dad told her and it inspired her to write a song about it. I don't know any more than that, but my uncle will XD

Laura Marling – The Captain and the Hourglass Lyrics 13 years ago
I think the verse is kind of about how he [the captain] has wasted his time and his wife feels bad that he is leaving, but he just wants to go.

'If heaven is as heaven does than this is hell for sure'
I think it's kind of saying that is heaven is what it preaches about etc then this is far from it, which is basically easy to figure out. Perhaps it's also about how he's leaving her for something better, but also questioning if there is something better, or perhaps he has left her and now he realises that he should have stayed instead of chasing 'heaven'.
Just a guess, probably not very accurate. Let me know what you think!
