Also something to think about... He's singing about being intoxicated by this woman. It's almost as though he can't help but be with her. "I must go right to her hair." Then he goes on to say, "It'd be easy to get that." I'm going to take a leap of faith and say he wants to ravage, do un-Godly things, make what we can only assume would be sweet, deep, passionate love to this broad. I'm going to ahead and assume she wants him as much as he wants her. "But three fingers point back to you." It could be that these three lines above are the three reasons that he feels it's her fault. It's almost as though he's blaming her for the love he feels. |

Anna, you could be wrong. I feel like this song has a much more sad and deeper meaning. "They made a statue of us and put it on a mountain top." - They (family and friends) built us up "Now tourist come and stare at us." - Now anyone who sees us has a false image of us. "They named a city after us" - going along the same path that the first line did. "Then later say it's all our fault." - post break up. "Then they'll give us a talking to, 'cause they have years of experience." - They'll tell us what we did/where we went wrong. "And it's contagious." - now it's everyone's business. Just something to think about. |
