You all disappoint me. Its the classic meaning within a meaning within an appearance. One first assumes, upon listening to this song, that Anthony is in love. Once the listener thinks about the song they realize that it doesn't quite match. Most people believe that the meaning is then, simply, Cocaine, Weed, or whatever. That is untrue, at least in my own eyes it is. Personally, is a very vague song about organized Prostitution. Which the point of veiw goes from the buyer to the pimp regularly. Hand to write on ; To give the prostitute the offer to give to the 'Pimp' Do you want to flash your light on? ; A reference to 'Roxxane' in which he is asking to turn on that red light. Take a look its on Display ; The pimp is showing off his 'goods' Coming down no not today ; The buyer chooses a 'product' that is unavailable that particular way. Did you meet your fortune teller ; In this case, the fortune teller is the pimp. Instead of fortune being luck it is implied as the monetary value. Get ... Propeller ; No beating around the bush. Or dancing in circles. In other-words the buyer cuts to the chase... You should be able to get the rest of the story on your own. |
