| i think the first part of the song is about being on drugs, and not wanting anyone to help you. you just want to be left alone to live your self destructive life. the second part i think is about either someone maybe being put into treatment or going to jail, long long days with no escaping, meaning he can't escape reality with drugs and he can't lie to himself anymore about the consequences of his actions which effect himself and possibly friends or family members. maybe what he means by if it gets you down just don't blame me means he is trying to say it wasn't my fault it was the drugs. as far as the chorus goes i feel like the first one although worded the same has a slightly different meaning in context with this interpretation. for example the first one may mean if only we're nothing at all meaning if only i never even discovered this drug and the second chorus i think would be directly referring to the person in question saying i wish you just didn't know me so you wouldn't see me like this. just my opinion i guess we are all going to see the lyrics based on our own issues in our lives. | |
