I love SOAD and all, but neither Daron nor Serj are Christians (dunno bout Odadjian or Dolomayan for sure, though I'd think Dolmayan would be). But I'd like to take a moment and say that not once was Christ angry at God in his entire life, as he led a sinless existence to free humanity from sin. Being angry at God WOULD, after all, constitute a sin. Also, Christ actually WAS God in a literal sense, so he would not ask WHY God would hide a truth from him. On the cross, he was actually despairing over the fact that the only way to save man would be a three day stint in Hell. The question "Why have you forsaken me" does not have the connotation that people are describing at this site. All in all, it's a song about how Serj, a neo-transcendentalist, does not fully understand anything that the ancient and correct text of our Holy Bible says, and he is making a political statement about a great portion of the world's beliefs. Take this from a practicing minister. |

I think this song is about getting retarded druggies and Buddha-loving fruitcakes to give their opinions on a forum no one will ever really care about. Well, that's just my interpretation of the lyrics, at least... |
