This song is about the tower of babel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel It's a biblical story about how after the flood all mankind spoke the same language. They decided to build a tower so tall that they could reach up to God. God was angry and he punished the people by giving them different languages and spreading them all over the planet, so that they could not cooperate to finish the building of the tower. Tool is singing about rebuilding the tower, probably not in a litteral way, but in a figurative way, they're talking about how mankind should "rediscover communication" and finding a way to reach God. At least, that makes perfect sense to me! |
