Slipknot – Wait And Bleed Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I think this is a song about the first time Goku turned Super Saiyan. It makes sense. |
Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is not merely a song about a breakup. This is a song about two sides of a breakup: the initial and the afterthought. In the initial, both parties are trying to blame the other. The male of the relationship thinks he's innocent, that the relationship was one-sided and all about her, and that he was just going along with it because that was how he believed love worked. The female of the relationship thinks she's innocent, that he was manipulative and tried to make her believe it was all her fault, and that everything he said had a silver lining to it, or a hidden meaning. The afterthought is what most people are missing. "Somebody that I used to know" isn't a reference to either party cheating. She had her friends collect everything that was hers from his house, while she set about to completely disappear instead of actually following through with her promise of "we can still be friends." He's upset that she refuses to acknowledge that there was anything there, and she can't believe he's still trying to talk to her. |
They Might Be Giants – Climbing the Walls Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I can't talk, I got to go Don't call me back, I won't get the door Got to focus on the job 'Cause I got a new job climbing the walls I was grinding my teeth, I was wasting my youth And using up my teeth Now I'm done chewing my nails Hanging my head, chasing my tail It got so bad I quit my job Then I got a new job climbing the walls Too much junk, too much junk Can we please clear out this house? In the trunk, in the trunk And then we'll take it all to the dump Then we won't need the car 'Cause we'll stay where we are And I'll have all this room I got tired of pacing the floor Sick of it all, I'm done with the floor Walked away ever since I got a new job climbing the walls [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/t/they might be giants/climbing the walls_20668229.html ] I was grinding my teeth, I was wasting my youth And using up my teeth Now I'm done chewing my nails Hanging my head, chasing my tail It got so bad I quit my job Then I got a new job climbing the walls The deep end, the deep end People talk a lot, but they don't know They pretend, they pretend They don't really know how deep it goes Now I misunderstood, Thought the wall was just good For staring blankly at I got tired of pacing the floor Sick of it all, I'm done with the floor Walked away ever since I got a new job climbing the walls Now I'm done chewing my nails Hanging my head, chasing my tail It got so bad I quit my job Then I got a new job climbing the walls Got a new job climbing the walls Got a new job climbing the walls --- Now we can read it! |
Egypt Central – Push Away Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song reminds me of someone who has hit rock bottom earlier in their life, and this is the affirmation of them having built their life back up upon different means. The person is declaring that they won't hit bottom again, and that those that want to drag them down need to look elsewhere, because they won't be falling again. |
Red – Lie To Me (Denial) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This song sounds a lot like a breakup song. The girl wants to walk away and shed her memory of everything they had, but the guy wants her to know that he can see through her lies of not loving him, and that he'll still be there for her when she realizes that she's being a fool. |
Bullet for My Valentine – A Place Where You Belong Lyrics | 13 years ago |
You're dead! You're dead! Your body's cold, hope is lost, I can't let go Can I die with you so we can never grow old? Cut the ties with this note you left behind As I read the words I hear you telling me why Too late, too late I never said goodbye Too late, too late Can't even ask you why And now I'm wastin' away in my own misery I hope you've finally gone to a place where you belong My sadness shows as your name is carved in stone Can't erase the words so the reality grows I wish I'd died on that night while by your side So just kill me now and let the good times roll Too late, too late I never said goodbye Too late, too late Can't even ask you why And now I'm wastin' away in my own misery I hope you've finally gone to a place where you belong Will you wait for me? (Will you wait for me?) Will I see you on the other side? You won't have to wait too long, yeah Will you come for me? (Will you come for me?) Will you take me to the other side? Cause here I don't belong Too late, too late I never said goodbye Too late, too late Can't even ask you why And now I'm wastin' away in my own misery I hope you've finally gone to a place where you belong I never said goodbye Can't even ask you why I'm wastin' away in my own misery I hope you've finally gone to a place where you belong |
