Well, there's an article on NME.com that says this album is about "responsibility, particularly the responsibility of womanhood." That being said, I think this song deals with the struggle between the "responsibilities" of the matronly woman (caring for others, showing a good example) and being a free person, being yourself. Being with a rambling man is something like a compromise. She can be free to be herself but also enjoy a domestic (yet, still unorthodox) way of life.
It's a pretty personal interpretation to me, but maybe it makes sense. |

I just want to say that this makes complete sense to me.
Whenever I feel disgusted with college (which is kind of often), I just listen to this song on my way to class. It helps me take things less seriously. |
