And I've just accidentally quoted Corpo. xD

Pantera – Walk Lyrics 12 years ago
Wrong. Before Phil was in Pantera, their frontman was a singer by the name of Terry Glaze. The transition from glam to groove metal was a massive one, but if you're going to state your words as fact, do your research first.

Maybe so, but take into account that this was written before Big Man with a Gun, unless that happens to be one of The Downward Spiral. I definitely see where you're coming from though.

Bubb, mate, I'm pretty you've posted the right lyrics for the wrong song. Unless there's been some sort of technical error.

The Lemonheads – It's A Shame About Ray Lyrics 12 years ago
I remember reading that the name of this song came from an article in a Sydney newspaper about this child named Ray who had something traumatic happen to him, and was also partly inspired by a club owner who called everyone Ray. The guy who co-wrote the lyrics with Dando is an Aussie indie pop muso named Tom Morgan, so he probably would have provided his knowledge of this story to this song and help Dando to turn it into the gem this song turned out to be. And doesn't that guitar break just ooze Nirvana.

Rage Against the Machine – No Shelter Lyrics 12 years ago
Isn't it ironic that this song appears on the soundtrack of a film that this song takes aim at? I wonder what made the producers put this in the soundtrack? Whatever, I'm glad it's there.
This song reminds me of the outrageous pomp of the Transformers saga because when I hear the lines "From the theatres to malls on every shore; The thin line between entertainment and war" I think of Transformers. It's all corporate big-budget boys-toys schmultz that's made for the sole purpose of raking billions of dollars of people's money into the pockets of its actors, directors, producers and film companies, instead of spending it on more worthwhile causes like conservation and disaster relief. Not only does this song kick ass but it's a big f*** you to corporate America.

Stone Sour – Zzyzx Rd. Lyrics 12 years ago
I think Corey wrote it for his wife, who helped him overcome his alcoholism and saved him from committing suicide by falling off the balcony of his apartment. He said that although he'd never written anything like this before, he said he wanted to show the world not only how she saved him but how much she meant to him.

Buckcherry – Check Your Head Lyrics 12 years ago
My favourite song on Buckcherry's debut. Love it's bluesy feel and how the solo is backed up by powerful rhythm guitar. To me this song is about not losing sight of what's important in life and as woodendogz said, getting back to what makes YOU happy in your life.

Pink Floyd – Astronomy Domine Lyrics 13 years ago
"The Wall...was a flop compared to their previous work"

Holy shit, did I say that earlier? What was I thinking? I might as well have been on LSD myself! There are songs on that record I didn't recognise were there, like Mother, one of my all time fave songs AHEAD of this one. I'll say no more.

Green River – Swallow My Pride Lyrics 13 years ago
Say no more Marquez. Couldn't have said it better. grungemonkey1990, this is indeed one of the first great grunge songs ever made.

As for bands that started the grunge phenomenon, don't forget the U-Men!!! Gibby Haynes certainly didn't!

Creed – Bullets Lyrics 13 years ago
What's more, even the most widely respected bands in the world have their critics, and the most widely hated bands have fans who adore everything they produce. Each unto his/her own I say.

"...my goal is to sway people out from under the blanket of crappy music"

Pfft. Who are you to judge what we should listen to and what we shouldn't? What you might see as crappy, one might also take great enjoyment from. So quit being the dictator that you are and get a life.

Now, let's move the conversation back to the actual SONG, shall we people?

Creed – Bullets Lyrics 13 years ago
If you say that there's no need to praise bands that are already good (which is complete bullshit) then tell me, how come you see nothing wrong with criticising bands that, in your mind at least, are already bad?

Creed – Bullets Lyrics 13 years ago
As soon as I heard the lyrics to this song, I instantly thought of Fred Durst. To me this is about the incident between him and Scott Stapp at the Dysfunctional Family Picnic a year before Weathered was released. Before Limp Bizkit performed one of their songs Fred was talking to the crowd and calling Stapp a punk and an egomaniac, as well as insulting Creed's music. During Creed's set Stapp responded by saying that "it takes a lot more guts to say something to somebody than from behind their backs", and that's what made mt think of the connection between that incident and this song.

But that's just my opinion ;)

Limp Bizkit – The Truth Lyrics 13 years ago
That's what I like to hear. I'm not exactly the biggest LB fan in the world but I'm glad someone has had the balls to say this to all the haters in a constructed fashion without prejudice. You make yourself sound not like a LB fan but a fan of music that you like and letting everyone know that you don't care about how many people hate it. Kudos.

Limp Bizkit – The Truth Lyrics 13 years ago
You talk about the band "clinging on to fame", you do know that Fred wanted this album to be like an underground kind of release, with no advertising or promotion. That doesn't sound like a band hoping to cling on to fame to me. I do think they've had their day in the sun, but all these claims about the band selling out just irk the shit out of me.

Pantera – Hollow Lyrics 13 years ago
People came here to talk about the meaning of this Pantera song and how good it is, not to see some petty Metallica vs Megadeth bout. Could you at least find a better place to attempt knocking each other out? Besides I personally prefer Pantera over both those bands ;)

Pantera – Hollow Lyrics 13 years ago
Great, now look what you've done, you've caused an unnecessary argument about Metallica having their stuff "stolen" by Pantera and have taken some of the attention off the actual song, which is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard but easily oup there with Pantera's best.

This song seems to be about a person that was close to Phil, so how could he be guilty of stealing from Metallica? Besides "One" was about a soldier injured during battle and this, well, in my opinion sounds like a major accident of some sort i.e. a car crash. Just my opinion...

Hole – Doll Parts Lyrics 13 years ago
Calm down princess. Just because people are saying this song was written about Kurt doesn't mean we think every other Hole song is as well. And we're certainly not implying that she is a one-dimensional songwriter because she's well known by many fans to have written some great songs. Perhaps you aren't aware of the fact that their are some surprisingly knowledgeable fans who correctly claim that the Hole song "Violet" was written about Courtney's brief relationship with Billy Corgan. We're more open-minded than you think.

Hole – Doll Parts Lyrics 13 years ago
Miss Mess I couldn't sgree with you more. Same goes for you Dreamie. The fact that this song was written and recorded before Kurt's death makes it so haunting. Those screams you mentioned would become much more agonised afterwards. Courtney was right, this pain did turn out to be his.

Wow...only 15 comments on this song and we already have two haters...just what I came to expect from such a community littered with so many shitholes...thank God these shitholes only make up the minority of people here...I don't like Limp Bizkit either and I think Fred Durst is a total hypocrite but I love this song. It's kind of a guilty pleasure ;)

Radiohead – Exit Music (For a Film) Lyrics 13 years ago
say nn more, thisboy has got it. i'm in this situation as well, or at least i think i will be when my rents find out about this girl from NZ i met online, so this song could mean a great deal to me as much as it already does for so many others. didn't Baz Luhrmann say this song was one of the great film exit songs of all time?

and btw, that's the perfect length for an explanation such as the one you gave.
