Lol. Freedom of speech at work.

You're allowed to express yourself only if I agree.

Interpol – Evil Lyrics 10 years ago
Fuckin' MSN screen names.

Bob Dylan – Talkin' New York Lyrics 10 years ago
I was thinking more along the lines of crime. i.e. muggings that they're forced to do to support themselves financially. Literally, stabbing. But yours is probably right.

Bob Dylan – House of the Rising Sun (The Animals cover) Lyrics 10 years ago
Wrong. Her voice is so overdone folk female singer it's horrid. Along with the likes of Sandy Denny and whomever sings in Bert Jansch and John Renbourn's band "Pentangle".

Bob Dylan – House of the Rising Sun (The Animals cover) Lyrics 10 years ago
Joan Baez did the modern version two years before Dylan. I don't particularly like it, but it's a fact.

Grizzly Bear – All We Ask Lyrics 10 years ago
I think everyone just wants to re-post the lyrics. Dash the meaning.

Birds of Tokyo – Black Sheets Lyrics 10 years ago
Damn, Ian Kenney. I'd do you.

submissions
Jeff Beck – Shapes of Things Lyrics 10 years ago
Yes. Well done.

Lisa Mitchell – Stevie Lyrics 10 years ago
So... nobody thinks this song could be about Stevie Nicks..? I'd always had a hunch. It's probably wrong. Just an idea.

The Cure – Love (John Lennon cover) Lyrics 10 years ago
I love The Cure, and John Lennon, and particularly the original. I also appreciate the sound they were attempting in making the song their own, but quite frankly, I think they failed dismally in the "good song" department. They took the main aspect of a beautiful song; its beauty, and made it dirty and evocative, and really quite badly. This would hardly stand up as a Cure original.

Lols.

Radiohead – Pop Is Dead Lyrics 11 years ago
You've obviously never heard "How Do You?".

Heh. Nice.

It's starting to look like a TRIPLE post.

Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics 11 years ago
I'm not going to involve myself in any sort of argument on your views of people of various creeds, backgrounds, preferences etc.

But seriously, pretty much that whole list sucks. Gorillaz are kind of interesting, and... nope, that's pretty much it.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Come On (Let the Good Times Roll) Lyrics 11 years ago
This song and its lyrics were written by Earl King, who Hendrix admired, just in case anyone was wondering.

submissions
The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Voodoo Child (Slight Return) Lyrics 11 years ago
It's by Lenny Kravitz. Awkward.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – ...And the Gods Made Love Lyrics 11 years ago
If that's Gods making love, then they don't last very long.

Augie March – The Keepa Lyrics 11 years ago
This is my second favourite song on Strange Bird, after Little Wonder.

submissions
Beck – High 5! (Rock the Catskills) Lyrics 11 years ago
I understand that Odelay is a sampling based album, that this is more than likely a humorous jab at rap/hip hop and what have you, so forth, blah.

Despite being aware of all this, and being an enormous Beck fan, I can't find any appeal in this song whatsoever. It is an irritation in my ears shoved between Readymade and Ramshackle, two songs encroaching upon masterpiece status.

Califone – Polish Girls Lyrics 11 years ago
This is one of the greatest songs of ever.

submissions
Caesars – Paper Tigers Lyrics 11 years ago
I basically agree with SavageMadrox.

It's good to see people commenting on Caesars songs because they're good, rather than just because they were featured on an iPod advertisement.

submissions
Caesars – Jerk It Out Lyrics 11 years ago
Or possibly Turning Japanese.

submissions
Caesars – Jerk It Out Lyrics 11 years ago
No, that would be Blister In The Sun.

submissions
Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics 11 years ago
Perhaps the chorus is an allusion to heaven after death?

I'm not religious, and I don't know if Thom is, but it's just a thought.

submissions
Gomez – See The World Lyrics 11 years ago
Oh my god! I totally also commented on this song solely because it was featured on House! It's far from their best.

submissions
Gomez – Army Dub Lyrics 11 years ago
The Who?

submissions
Tim Buckley – Cafe Lyrics 11 years ago
Tim Buckley's case is just as tragic as his son's, only more so in the respect that his audience never flourished. This song is absolutely stunning.

Xavier Rudd – The Mother Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is about STIs and the way they are omnipresent regardless of your surroundings.

Xavier Rudd – Energy Song Lyrics 11 years ago
Also, nature or whatever.

Xavier Rudd – Energy Song Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is about not having the stamina to have intercourse seven times in one night.

submissions
Bert Jansch – Dreams of Love Lyrics 11 years ago
His best song, hands down.

submissions
Mogwai – Kings Meadow Lyrics 11 years ago
This is such a relaxing song. The title seems to fit quite well in a fantasy, distant land kind of way. It seems to portray longing or wistfulness to me.

submissions
Mogwai – Nick Drake Lyrics 11 years ago
Nick Drake is probably my favourite artist ever. I haven't even heard this song and I love it. I bet it's wistful and depressing.

submissions
I Am Kloot – The Same Deep Water As Me Lyrics 11 years ago
Anyone else think the title is a reference to The Cure's "The Same Deep Water As You" from Disintegration?

submissions
The Who – Underture Lyrics 11 years ago
I don't know whether it is ignorance or stupidity, but either way, you used the wrong 'your/you're'.

submissions
Elbow – The Everthere Lyrics 11 years ago
Please spell lose correctly.

submissions
Ralph McTell – Last Train And Ride Lyrics 11 years ago
That line is lame.

But the song is still great.

submissions
Donovan – The Fat Angel Lyrics 11 years ago
I guess it's more specifically about a pilot (or steward) who is hiding behind images of grandeur and godliness in his ability to fly you anywhere, but that he is really just a greedy corporate man?

In a more broader view, I suppose it's just about corporations in general, and their desire to acquire your money by any means, especially lying.

Or I could be totally wrong.

I love the Jefferson Airplane reference.

submissions
Donovan – The Trip Lyrics 11 years ago
Unless the message is deeply hidden, I'd promptly conclude that this song is about a drug trip.

Yes, that's right. Drugs, that barely referenced subject in music.

submissions
Donovan – Bert's Blues Lyrics 11 years ago
Could this be a reference to Bert Jansch? He was a folk/blues artist who started at basically the same time as Donovan. He was also a prominent member of the band Pentangle. I always envisioned the title as some sort of nod to his music but I've had no grounds for believing so other than the name Bert.

Elbow – Coming Second: Lyrics 11 years ago
Best song on "Asleep In The Back".

I love the little guitar twang.
