Hourcast – Freeze Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Great song. I've seen more odder video clips to be honest [Tool and NIN], but nonetheless, still a very interesting clip. As for the lyrics, it sounds like a relationship [whether romantic or not] has definitely been broken. It seems like the choices they have made were the wrong ones [could be relationship wise or on real life wise]. Whatever the person has done, it seems that it's pretty much come back to bite them in the arse "Unraveling and closing in on you." Overall, really dark feeling to the song, and it's certainly different from what I usually listen to. But a good change, that's for sure. :) |
Oomph! – Augen Auf (English Version) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I like that this translation is what it comes up as in English from direct translation. Though, I do prefer the English version they did of this--Ready Or Not (I'm Coming). I believe they changed some of the phrases around to suit a better understanding for English listeners. The lyrics can be found on this site under the title stated previously. As for the meaning of the song, I find that it's either a stalker or a pedophile. The whole Hide and Seek game that is going on makes this song sound as if it's meant to be more child-like rather than two adults 'playing' or an adult stalking another adult. Either way, Oomph! have written a very dark and somewhat delicate and 'creepy' song through these lyrics [better understood in Ready Or Not (I'm Coming)]. The child's voice in this also backs up the theory that this is meant to be more pedophilia-like than anything else. |
Ozzy Osbourne – Fire In The Sky Lyrics | 13 years ago |
You do realise that you just explained probably more than 40% of what the lyrical world sings about, right? Songs like this are written over and over again by different artists, but that doesn't make them rip-offs. It just means that they, too, have learned of a way to express themselves through a lyrical sense. Look at Dream Theater, Tool/A Perfect Circle, Soilwork, Disturbed and many other bands. Some bands even have more than one song that can seem to be about the same thing. It doesn't make them rip-offs. And if you knew anything or a song meaning, then you wouldn't have said that. True, Pink Floyd sings about a lot of drug and childhood trauma, but do remember that they aren't the only band that suffered through rough time periods. |
Pendulum – self vs self revision Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I actually prefer this style when it comes to Pendulum. It's great to hear something heavier from them, but that may also be because I'm a fan of In Flames. Both voices go incredibly well together, with the contrast of the screaming and clear vocals. I agree, the music leans more towards In Flame's style, but that doesn't mean the music is bad. It's amazing, and it's a song that really pumps you up--despite the lyrics. As for the song meaning--which this site if FOR--I'm not quite sure what the meaning could be. But 'nothing lasts forever' gives it a more pessimistic feel rather than a positive one. Maybe this song is about losing who you are and not knowing what to do about it. He seems to be questioning himself quite a fair bit in this, and someone else, too. Who that could be is a mystery. But either way, I feel this song is about not being able to figure out who or what to do with yourself. Never feeling right and not knowing how to get back to how things were before. Amazing song, and In Flames was a downright hit for Pendulum. I'm betting many metal fans are loving this one. :D And I'm hoping to hear more like this [music-wise] from their next album. |
Edguy – Wasted Time? Lyrics | 13 years ago |
No. It's 'Way' this person just misspelled it... |
Eisbrecher – Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein? (English) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I adore this song, and the lyrics. It's pretty self explanatory that it's paedophillia. He calls the being 'young' [which could mean just a young adult, too], but I don't think that's the intent. Like any paedophile, their love for a child is a sin [for anyone religious, as well as frowned upon by society]. Great lyrics, great song. Love the overall darkness of it. |
Darkseed – Next To Nothing Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I love this song, though reading the lyrics it's pretty dark and depressing, yet very truthful at the same time. Humanity is definitely going down the shit hole. The catchiness of this song is very deceiving. XD |
Anthrax – Safe Home Lyrics | 13 years ago |
To Animal. I have to agree with you here. As soon as I saw the interpretation being God, all I could think was how did they get this from these lyrics? True, solace can be found in God of Jesus if you believe, but I'd say it's finding solace in someone else rather than a godly figure. |
Royal Hunt – Time Will Tell Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Amazing song, and pretty self explanatory. |
Helloween – Can Do It Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Self explanatory. Can't help but feel bouncy when the song comes on. :D |
Demon Hunter – My Heartstrings Come Undone Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeah, they are. XD |
Dope – Slipping Away Lyrics | 14 years ago |
With his dreadies.. yes. XD |
Bullet for My Valentine – Your Betrayal Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Actually, this song sounds a lot more stalker-ish than you people may realise. "I was told to stay away" sounds like an AVO may have been taken out as he/she could have been too possessive over him/her. It sounds like her/his betrayal was more leaving him/her than anything else. |
30 Seconds to Mars – The Kill Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It has reference to The Shining. |
Slipknot – The Nameless Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Purity--you have it right. That's exactly what the song is made of. Corey thought it was sick and disgusting, and so apparently he just had to write a song about it. And his empathy/feeling/lyrics really makes you feel how a person [the perpetrator] in this song actually feels/people who share the same feelings about other people that they have obsessions with and/or stalkers. All I have to say is that when hearing this song, it actually makes me FEEL what the man inside the song does, it's strange what love can do, and it's not always pretty. But this is a perfect song. |
Royal Hunt – Sea Of Time Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I edited it up a little bit for you. In the ocean of dreams Things are changing but staying the same Nothing is like it seems So unreal that it drives me insane--in the heat of seven suns Surrender--to the power of time End of the line Ready or not, But you'll always remember! Everyday in your life you're lonely Every tear in your eye is only Little step on the way to face your fear I'm thinking about you! Every bridge that you'll burn behind you Every page that you'll turn'll remind you Everyday is another lonely tear Just falling in the sea of time… Gentle voice from above Makes you carry your cross through the day Speaking wisdom and love! To confuse you--then fading away Into the light of seventh sun He'll run! Don't be afraid, never surrender Ages will pass but we'll always remember! Everyday in your life you're lonely Every tear in your eye is only Little step on the way to face your fear I'm thinking about you! Every bridge that you'll burn behind you Every page that you'll turn'll remind you Everyday is another lonely tear Just falling in the sea of time…! Everyday in your life you're lonely Every tear in your eye is only Little step on the way to face your fear I'm thinking about you Every bridge that you'll burn behind you Every page that you'll turn'll remind you Everyday is another lonely tear Just falling in the sea of time Everyday in your life You're lonely! Every tear in your eye Is only! Little step on the way To face your fear! He’s thinking about you! Every bridge that you'll burn Behind you! Every page that you'll turn'll Remind you! Everyday is another lonely tear Just falling in the sea of time…! (continue till fade) |
Royal Hunt – Hostile Breed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I couldn't quite hear some of the lyrics being called out at the end, so I couldn't add them in, but if anyone can hear them, I'd love to add them in properly. And this song is pretty self explanitory, and I do find it very truthful, and very bold of a band to state the truth. Very nice job, Royal Hunt. |
Royal Hunt – Lies Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is definitely a favourite of mine by Royal Hunt. I've realised that they use quite a lot of religious metaphors in their lyrics--but that doesn't necessarily mean the meaning in itself is religious. I don't know why, but when I read these lyrics, it actually makes me think that he's speaking of a more motherly figure than a lover. "Even the day when we met, I'll always recall with the deepest regret," somehow that shows more of a regret from a mother's point of view, maybe regretting that she has had a child, more than a lovers/religious point of view. Maybe the figure wasn't loving, and kept her child locked away and lied to them about the truth of the world around them. And this DOES go back to religion, as some people are made by their parents to become part of something without choice. I don't KNOW for sure what the song is about, but I just like to think it's something deeper than what it's making out to be. :) It's just a suggestion. |
