Kutless – The Disease & The Cure Lyrics 11 years ago
Surprised nobody commented on this yet. It's pretty obvious that he's saying he's trapped in his sins (just like everyone is) and wants to undo the wrong that he did.

Creed – Suddenly Lyrics 11 years ago
"What's under me" should be "What's underneath"

two lines later, it should be "Betrayed you're an image, oh precious creation. You will submit, you will give in."

in the second verse, "You're so very clear" should be "It's all very clear."

Creed – On My Sleeve Lyrics 11 years ago
"here is me alive" should be "that buries me alive"

and I think "Standing now and alone" should be "Standing now I'm alone"

the first one I took right from the album's lyric sheet...the second one, I think even they messed up

Creed – Bread Of Shame Lyrics 11 years ago
I think some changes need to be made here:

"I know I'm in" should be "I'm numbing"

the second verse is: "As long as you say I'm free then keep these chains on me | Tell me down is up, I'll let you fill this broken cup | When the walls fall down let them fall on me | Because no one's around who believes me!"

and the bridge is: "Tell me where I sign my name (echo)| Each time I find no peace of mind...You left behind only bread of shame | Tell me where I sign my name (echo)| I have no peace of mind only bread of shame."

I got these right from the album's lyric sheet (minus the echoes)

Creed – Bread Of Shame Lyrics 11 years ago
well, I think their recent reunion has helped them realize some things, like the fact that every part of the band is important, not just Scott's voice. I'd expect more songs like this in the future. by the way, I really like the guitar intro

Creed – Good Fight Lyrics 11 years ago
it could be that, but I think it's more specifically about fighting to be a good Christian. He knows that he's a broken, sinful man, but he still strives to be like Christ (who he hopes to be).

as for the second verse, I'd say that he's worried about his sins erasing all of the hard work that he put into being a good follower of Jesus. I really have no clue who "she" is, though.

Default – Break Down Doors Lyrics 11 years ago
Sounds like somebody has a bit of an obsession. Not their best song, but I really like the beat and the guitar solo. I really just didn't want this song to go without a comment.

The Benjamin Gate – All Over Me Lyrics 11 years ago
It's a shame that Benjamin Gate no longer exists. I'd say it's awesome that the lead singer got married to Jeremy Camp, though.

Disturbed – Conflict Lyrics 11 years ago
well, since it's Disturbed we're talking about, I wouldn't tend to put a religious meaning into this song. What I will say is that it's definitely talking about some sort of inner conflict, considering that he says, "I am an enemy, my very greatest enemy" and "What are you enemy, the one created enemy".

Default – Live A Lie Lyrics 11 years ago
by "suck" I'm assuming you mean that they suck you into the song, not that they're bad...just clarifying 'cuz it took me a second

Default – Crossing The Line Lyrics 11 years ago
This sounds almost like he had a bad relationship and is glad it's over "I've broken clean free off the leash now" (by the way, it sound like "leash" not "leach"). He realizes just how bad it was and doesn't want to listen to whoever it was anymore, so he won't be tempted to go back "Keep all your thoughts to yourself now I don't need to trip on those words anymore." Now he feels free to do what he wants, instead of being held back by that relationship.

Red – Breathe Into Me Lyrics 11 years ago
I think skankuser was talking about purgatory. Not all Christians believe that there's a purgatory...there's only heaven and hell. It depends on who you talk to.

Daughtry – You Don't Belong Lyrics 11 years ago
The very beginning of the song kinda reminds me of Breathe Into Me from Red. Very good song to start off the album (I don't like slow starts).

Daughtry – Supernatural Lyrics 11 years ago
This seems very descriptive of the spiritual journey that many Christians go through. We're all "lost from the start" and unable to communicate with God (or at least we can't see how). Whenever someone becomes a Christian, though, they feel that "every step I've taken has led me here" and they have all sorts of questions. Then the person sees how life was before and realizes that he/she will never be the same.

I'm just putting up what I feel. Go ahead and refute me if you like, I just can't think of anything else right now.

Daughtry – Get Me Through Lyrics 11 years ago
Really like the second verse of this song - very poetic. Good song from a good album.

Jeremy Camp – Restored Lyrics 11 years ago
It's obviously about God restoring his life and giving him the strength to go on (probably why it's the title track on that album).

Jeremy Camp – Lay Down My Pride Lyrics 11 years ago
This song helped me through a tough time. It's kinda obvious what it's about, so I won't even bother.

Jeremy Camp rocks, and his songs need more comments.

Three Days Grace – Bully Lyrics 11 years ago
Maybe I should put my earlier reply in a full-blown comment:

Actually, I think this song is trying more to get inside the head of bullies and explain how they do what they do to get attention. Generally, bullies never feel like anyone pays attention to them (bringing the "blame it on..." lines into play) until they start bullying people. So I think it's more about bullies than it is about being bullied.

Going into further detail, I would say that the first verse is generally the experience of a boy who wants to be appreciated, but can only remember the bad things that everyone says about him, so he starts bullying people to get attention 'cuz he'd rather have bad attention given to him than none at all.

The second verse seems like it might be after she already bullied someone; she feels horrible, but she's trying to forget about it.

The chorus goes through the usual progressions of blame when it comes to bullying. First, people say that the parents obviously did something to the kid to make him or her this way. Then people start thinking that it's just the kid's fault because the bullying keeps happening, regardless of what they try to do. Finally, people realize that nobody paid attention to this kid earlier on in life, and the blame is on them because the bully only needed to feel wanted; now it's too late to change it.

Wow, that was long. And don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that this is the only possible answer. I'm just stating an educated guess.

Skillet – Stronger Lyrics 11 years ago
It also seems like it might be making an attempt at how Jesus felt when he was physically on earth. The phrases like "I'm more than a man" and "I'm undefeatable" are what give me that impression.

Skillet – Say It Loud Lyrics 11 years ago
Wow, surprised there are no comments, considering how old this song is.

Anyway, I think the song kinda speaks for itself...it seems to be about how hearing the good news of God can make us feel like we need to tell other people and let them share in our joy.

Yay, God :-)

Skillet – Fingernails Lyrics 11 years ago
I used to consider this my life's theme song. I never felt like I was actually doing anything worthwhile, and wanted someone to appreciate me, even if that meant acting a bit different from what I felt was the true me.

It was this kind of attitude that almost had me go to college for engineering, but I then realized on a youth retreat with my church that I wanted to be involved in youth ministry - that's what I truly enjoyed.

Now I'm attending Messiah College and studying youth ministry. Because of my decision, I feel more like my life has a purpose, and I don't feel like "all my dreams (are) out of reach."

That wasn't an attempt to explain the song, just saying how it speaks to me.

Skillet – Earth Invasion Lyrics 11 years ago
I can't deny the Christian perspective in it (they are a Christian band after all), but I agree with Exitiumx. I would say that it's more a song version of the book of Revelation in the Bible.

So, I wouldn't say it's saying "we're gonna kill you" as it's saying "there will be suffering" in general.

Three Days Grace – No More Lyrics 11 years ago
The part where it says "What do we stand for when we all live in fear" makes me think it's about more than just himself...to what extent, I'm not sure. I could see it being about how cruddy things are in America today (still not entirely sure about that, just saying that it's a possibility).
I really like how the vocals sound in the beginning (not that I hate them in the rest of the song), really good song.

Creed – Rain Lyrics 11 years ago
Is it just me, or does it seem like he's saying "Can you lend me a hand" in line 2, instead of "Can you let me in?" I'm no expert at this; I'm just going with what I hear.
