The Meg And Dia Band – Getaways Turned Holidays Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is about living for the here and now. There is nothing after this, which they have resolved themselves to, so they are going to make the fullest of what they have now.

P.S. This idea comes from the idea that we were all born without a purpose and we are insignificant and worth nothing more than anything else in this plant, such as fish, which births self worship-living for one's self and acting purely on what they believe and want (which isn't just selfishness or greed, kindness comes from this too, I'm not denying that) and this theory comes from the basis of Darwinism. Darwin's theories are what spawned a specific German's ideas about life and compelled him to act upon them. He was able to win other Germans to see things his way, and thus the Jewish genocide was born, along with the killing off of those deemed to weak to survive.
I just felt the need to point that out.

Vanessa Carlton – She Floats Lyrics 14 years ago
I would think it was about some one that's just kinda... there
She can't feel, and even when she tries, "she's as dry as clear blue skies", she still can't.

I'm confused.
Why does she say
"The seventh in the seventh row"?
Is that supposed to mean something or does it just sound good?

It's a though that Mary is who she's talking about, but why would she say, "Though I lifted up my hands to her she never lifted me"?

Flyleaf – Sorrow Lyrics 14 years ago
I feel compelled to state that the last line is
"Joy will come"
not
"Sorrow lives"

I think this song is about what God can do for you and what Satan can do for you. If you choose Satan, there will be nothing but sorrow. You might feel "whole" but only "for just one second". He will "perforate the fabric of the peaceful by and by".
But you can always come back to God. He will always help you. "He knew each tear before it came". And if you choose God, ultimately, "Joy will come".

Flyleaf – Circle Lyrics 14 years ago
I always thought this was a song about how a guy loved this girl and she never really believed him no matter what he did until he did something drastic like saving her life, costing him his life, and now she believes him and wants him back...
I guess in a way it could be related to Jesus.
At the same time, I don't think because it has scriptures it has to be about Christianity specifically. Christianity is a way of life and seeps into everything. She could just be referencing it because she is a Christian, like how movie lovers quote movie lines all the time if it fits with the situation.
Just my opinion.
I always thought of it as a somewhat love song.

I agree with cheergrlmsc.
Just because they're a Christian band doesn't make everything they write about God.
I really don't see how this could be about anything but a girl in love with a guy that doesn't notice her or is deliberately trying to make her feel bad.

that's most likely it because I've heard, I'm pretty sure from that mini-series "Living the Dream" they had on Disney, that he was really into politics and his nick-name was Mr. President.

That explains a lot, thanks, I kept stressing over what the title meant, and a found a word in the dictionary: vespers, that made no sense with the song at all.

Nick Jonas & The Administration – Who I Am Lyrics 14 years ago
This song says plainly what it's about. He wants someone to love him for who he is. He wants them to accept him, even with his flaws and with everything that is good about him.
This is a song people can relate to without having to go through anything, (like love songs, which I can't relate to because I've never been in love or in a relationship or anything the like) because everyone wants to find just one person who will love them for who they are, regardless.

Nick Jonas & The Administration – Last Time Around Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is obviously about a guy who's still in love with a girl that he used to be with.

I love the upbeat and fun tempo, it's a break from all the other ballads on the CD. It still has depth and is written very well. It's also very catchy, it gets stuck in my head all the time.

I think she'll get very big. She has an amazing voice coupled with an amazing control over and she writes most of her own music, well, helps, there have only been two songs on her albums that she wrote by herself.

I agree with flipperlex95 about what she said, both about Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.

Off her first album, there wasn't much to the songs, I'll grant you that, except for Don't Forget, and Get Back was more of a clever idea to get away from common songs. La La Land was fun, and Train wreck was the song she wrote by herself and it was well written.

But her newest album, Here We Go Again, has so much depth and well written music, all of which Miley Cyrus lacks in her music. Believe me, I wouldn't like music if there didn't seem to be much of a point to it or if it was badly written.

Demi Lovato – Catch Me Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is about how she doesn't want to fall in love and when she does begin to fall for someone she doesn't have high hopes for the relationship because she believes that no matter what it will end badly. Each verse is her fighting for her side in the belief that there is no way it could work, but in the chorus she returns to the way he makes her feel.
When she's saying "Please don't catch me" for a while I didn't get exactly what she meant, but I now realize that you have to look at the line before it as well, "Your love is where I'm falling" and then think about the phrase, "Falling out of love". She's hoping that, while she's falling in love with him, instead of crashing down when he leaves her, because she believes he will, she'll just keep falling until she falls out of love.
But in the end, she can't fight it anymore, and gives in to what she's feeling and gives him a chance.

If this is love
Please don't break me
I'm giving up
So just catch me

Demi Lovato – Catch Me Lyrics 14 years ago
Opposite in meaning, but with the same beat and syllables in the line. Both are slow. Both are about relationships. Both are deep. Both were written at least with the assistance of Demi Lovato: Catch Me, she wrote by herself, Don't Forget, written by Demi Loato, Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas. Both are the slowest songs on her albums. Both have two words for the title. And both, oddly enough, are number six on her albums.

I disagree, I think the song was better with the slow beat. Besides, the shift in beat was symbolic of her shift in disposition on the whole situation. When it changes is when she finally starts to allow herself to be in love with him, kind of like when your heart starts to race when your thinking about the person you love with a positive light. It slows down again because she's now being a little nonchalant about it saying pretty much that she's pretty much gonna go with it at this point.

Demi Lovato – Believe In Me Lyrics 14 years ago
That's not what she meant. You're forgetting the next few lines:

And it, it can tell you
You're full of life
(Full of life)
It's amazing what you can hide
(You can hide)
Just by putting on a smile

She's just saying basically that it's pretty easy to pretend to be okay even when you're not, especially if people just look at outward appearances instead of paying more attention to their behavior and taking an actual interest in them.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally.

I'm pretty sure this is about being bullied, mostly because I know that she used to be bullied, but it was done in a somewhat vague way so it could be interpreted for different things, which is part of what makes it such a well written song because art may have a definite meaning to the author or creator, but come across to someone else in a completely different was and mean something to them that the author or creator had never even thought about.

That could be it, but I always though of the chorus in a different way.

My of my
My alibi
Restore my faith in these
(Words so clear)

I thought she was talking about how murderer's alibis never hold up (and in each different verse it sounds like she's plotting a different way to kill him) but she's hoping that maybe she can come up with a good alibi that could save her.

My failure dear
Lies tucked away in me

Here she's blaming herself for the "failure" of their relationship, possibly in a sarcastic way, like she couldn't live up to what he wanted or needed. Even though it's her fault, because he cheated on her, she killed him.

It sounds like it doesn't make sense at first, but maybe because I like watching all those shows like Forensic Files, Cold Case Files, Ncis, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and anything relating to that kind of stuff, I know that it is very possible for people to think like that, slightly insane people, but still.

Meg & Dia – Cardigan Weather Lyrics 14 years ago
I don't think so, this song so much more blunt than the others. It's stating that her boyfriend is cheating on her and she's going to get revenge on him. It's a truly malicious song, and when coupled with the soft and lazy tempo of the music, makes it more haunting.
