I love this song so much. But i have to disagree that the screaming means insanity. The screaming means pain, and the fine line between the pain you can deal with and the pain that needs to end with a gun. I agree with bobbyjay41 on Hurt, that someone could be speaking from beyond the grave. However, maybe the narrator could be speaking to his best friend that is dead. |

Nothing sickens me more than society regurgitating the same crap over and over again. Why is it that every single band that becomes popular plays the same stuff? They're apparently "hurting", up in their million dollar mansions and more money needed to blind them from the poverty and suffering going on in this world. All they sing about is love probably none of them have really felt, sex, relationship problems (my god please stop with this subject altogether)and a whole other hypocritical crapload of being different and being yourself. It kind of sickens me that Christians have so little conviction that they cling to each and every desperate scrap of news they can get that makes Christianity seem better. There is no god, and Cassie Bernall would still be alive today if she knew that. I'm not saying it isn't a beautiful story, the glorification of a teenage martyr, but the real victims of the Columbine High Massacre were the shooters themselves. This is such a beautiful song, so epic and strong without being preachy. In the middle of the song where there's the conversation between the shooter and the victim, i love how the perspective of the shooter was able to be seen. Great work. |
