I'm not sure I'd know, since I live in a pretty good area (the worst that really happens where I live is the occasion group of 2 or 3 drunk people walking down the street and shouting, maybe kicking over a trashcan, and there's a guy who sometimes shoots the occasional chipmunk witht a BB gun, but he hasn't done that in a while). But I think this song is about living in a bad area where there's often bad stuff happening,and that worries people. |

I think a quote from Kung-Fu Panda pretty much sums up the general message of this song. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today is a gift-that's why they call it the present."
Live for today, don't let your past haunt you, and don't worry to much about the future, 'cause it might not come.
There's also a quote from To Kill A Mockingbird that I really like that has a similar message, but I can't remember it at the moment. It's basically about people worrying too much about having a good afterlife to enjoy the life they have now. |

I'm kinda new to ska-punk, and ska/reggae-related genres in general, but there's a lot of elitists in the metal community. It gets pretty annoying listening to metal on YouTube with half the comments being elitists fighting about whether or not a band is metal, and saying that the band is either far superior or inferior to other bands. Some metalheads will go onto pages featuring non-metal bands, and insult them. It's almost as annoying as how people are always trying to say what is and isn't punk on punk band's videos... |

In my opinion, it's not really an anti-Christia song. It's about their belief that religion should be a more personal thing, and shouldn't be involved in politics or used as a way to elevate yoursel above others. Although I do also dislike that stereotype. I'm agnostic, but I have some Christian friends who are very nice people who respect my views. |

pretty good interpretation, and seems like something manson would do. hidden meaning within meaning or whatever.
but the problem is you seem to have based it solely on the chorus, as the verses don't have anything to do with gardens.

a few lines in this song somewhat express things about his career "We bend our knees at the altar of my ego"=ALTAR of my EGO= alter-ego- people either hate or love him for his shocking stage persona, and the things he says in songs (Marilyn Manson), but fail to recognize the real person (Brian Warner.
and "I'm a diamond that is tired of all the faces I've acquired"=it was all the same old stuff in his lyrics (hate, drugs, suicidal feelings, and various things about society), and he wants to go in a new direction.
otherwise, the song is pretty much "You drained me. Fuck you"

i think the reason people say it's about batman is because billy corgan says that "the end is the beginning is the end' is about the 1940s version of batman
