I think it's about having ambitions (durrr) Maybe the singer had ambitions that they didn't live up to So they're telling their friend that they should live up to their pontetial because the singer didn't when they had the chance? Like in the line "If somebody's going to make it, then somebody ought to be you" Like the friend deserves it more or something? Anywayzies my FAV LINE IS: "But don't you know?, Some blades will cut you right to the bone" , It's chilling!! |

Umm, I think this song is about losing your morals or sense of right and wrong (innocence?). "It's like forgetting the words to your favourite song" - It's like forgetting that one thing that kept you grounded and on the 'right' path "It was so easy" - It was easy to do the right thing then, but now you're deciding "whether or not to steal" Maybe he opens the window to feel the chill, just to wake himself up, to snap of the thought of doing something so moraly wrong.. And how the song ends, you're still trying to feel the beat, so maybe you're still trying to figure out how to be as innocent as you were before? I don't know, I could be reading into it waaaayyy to much. "Cus It's his turn but his brother won't let him try" - Favourite Line! |
