Little Feat – Fat Man In The Bathtub Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I first heard Little Feat when I was maybe 12 years old. I'm almost 40 now . . . and a couple of weeks ago I was singing along to this song and I realized this song is hysterically dirty!!!!! 'Let me check your oil, all right' is a euphemism for sex. As is 'putting money in your meter.' "Fat man in a bathtub with the blues" is a really creative way to describe a woman's anatomy. And "I hear you moan"; man, this song, especially with their female singer is just about as sultry as any song I've ever heard. Questions: What does dive for dimes mean?--Is that also sex? And a taquita? |
Little Feat – Dixie Chicken Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Funny song. Everyone gets taken by this 'Tenessee Lamb!' |
Robert Palmer – Johnny And Mary Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeah, I think it's about a relationship falling apart as well. But both Johnny and Mary are too numb to do much about the whole thing. They're 'happy', if you will, with the status quo. |
Suede – The Asphalt World Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I looooooovvvveee this song. "Well how does she feel when she's in your bed? When you're there in her arms And there in her legs Well I'll be in her head." One of the most beautifully painful lines in all of Suede's music!!! First time I heard the song, I gasped out loud at the twist there. |
Suede – Head Music Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Mmmmmph, giggle, giggle, snort. I think they wrote it just for the punny title line! |
Suede – My Insatiable One Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song--but I think it doesn't mean much of anything sensible. More like a surrealist painting, if you ask me. |
Robert Palmer – Simply Irresistible Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think this song is a tongue in cheek song about the 'type' of woman a man might be interested in. Remember this was the late '80's and plastic surgery is all the rage--(I think that's where the 'money went.') and she's a 'craze you'd endorse,' and 'she used to look good but now I find her simply irresistable.' The video kind of goes in this direction, too, with all the look-a-like women in his band. |
Depeche Mode – Jezebel Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Great Song!! And Remember--Jezebel is the name of an evil Queen from the Bible, who (gasp!) wore make-up and was looked at as a kind of harlot. |
