This song is, along with Do What They Say, JD's favorite. I really love the whole Untouchables album, and this song stands out as haunting, and beautifully somber. This song is doubtless about the meaninglessness of our existence. Although must be coming from a deeply depressed person in an existential crisis. He is exhausted by his demons torturing his mind (for which he has nobody to blame but himself), depriving him of peace. "Deep in this hole of my making I can't escape" So he wants to take the final exit and kill his demons by killing himself. "Ripping apart all these things I have tried to stop" Note that most of Korn's songs deal with depression - clinical depression. Only a person in a state of despair beyond despair can feel such isolation, pervasive meaninglessness, and torment as to go against life's basic survival instinct and want to die. I love all of the songs on the album - every single one of them is exceptional. This album is JD's favorite album. And also mine. Another notable song on this album is No One's There. It's my favorite song by my favorite band. It's the last song and thus holds the greatest significance. |

Dudes, this is "songmeanings.net". If you want to bitch or rave about LP go on some forum. Nobody is even attempting to talk about the actual interpretation here. Saying that, I think this song is about schizophrenia. Maybe it's Chester's experience with it and the paranoia, anxiety, and pain that he experienced because of it. The song should have been titled "voices inside of my head", because it's also about voices. The voice is evil, it is haunting him and making him paranoid. Cold sweat shining on your face, Exposing your purpose and if I, Ripped of your skin I'd probably find another, Person, there's nothing worse than trying to, Bring yourself up back from the dead, So I advise you: Listen to that voice, In the back of your head the "advise" that Chester gives here is a threat, because he knows that if you try to resist that voice you'll lose your mind, or die. |

That's what I thought it said - "football". But if I listen it is "kick on the foot fall". Keep knocking No one's there Pouring down >>Near people/Near be felt/Nothing is found What does "Near people" or "Near be felt" mean? It's really hard to hear this line in the album version. In some live concerts I hear "Nothing is found", and you can clearly hear the 'nothing'. And I'm pretty sure it's not "near people". You can't even hear the last word. It sounds like "foul". As to interpretation. Obviously he is hurting so badly "I hurt so bad inside" that he can't even feel pleasure "I just wanna laugh again" and feels suicidal "Ready to blow my head off". He was screwed by a girl for leaving him "All alone" and feels used "Feel like a whore". Now he wants her to see the pain that she caused him "I wish you could see/The world through in my eyes". |

Korn has always ended their albums on a strong note. The last song of the album is always filled with deep emotion and meaning for the singer. "Daddy", "No One's There", "When Will This End" are just some examples. "Tearjerker" is one of those songs. This song reaches deeply into my soul, and it makes me cry. Especially the part towards the end when the drums come in and John sings: And I wish I could feel it And I wish I could feel it Like he is crying out in desperation, letting out all the pain and hopelessness that is inside him. This feeling is beyond description for me, and I'm thankful for this song for voicing how I really feel. Victor Hugo once said, "music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent". This song is what he is talking about. |

I think it's because I was going through especially hard times, dealing with depression and problems at school. It was especially hard because I could not relate to anyone in general and about my pain especially. This song was, and still is, a great consolation, because it, like a lot of Korn's songs, understands my pain and expresses it accurately, both with lyrics and melody. Interpretation: You and me we have no faces Soon our lives will be erased Do you think they will remember? Or will we just be replaced I agree with RadioKoRn that "'You and me...' is him talking to whoever's out there that can relate to what he sings about, and disagree with Drumz13 that "Its about two people looking back on their life". He is saying that we, those who suffer from depression or other great distress, "have no faces"--are not understood by others, and that "Soon our lives will be erased"--we will die, either by suicide or natural death, and nobody will take note. We will just be replaced by other people, and that those that used to know us will forget about us, subconsciously erasing us from their memory, and occupy their memories with new people. This is Jon reflecting on how meaningless our lives are, and how we have little significance in others' lives. Oh I wish that I could see How I wish that I could fly Far from things that hang above me To a place where I can cry Jon wishes to find a place where he can find peace (a place where I can cry), away from the people and responsibilities that he can't deal with (things that hang above me ) which cause him unbearable pain. Why is no one's there to understand and to comfort him? He is crying out in pain because he can't find rest, but it seem s like no one responds and no one cares. The "echoes" are his own cries resonating back, with no one hearing them, no friends, no family, no god, no one. The "nameless" feelings are the feelings that he feels that have no names, because they are so intense and uncommon, and have not been experienced by enough people in the society to even warrant a name. Only he feels them, and nobody else can understand these feelings and even relate. These feelings are so intense and unknown to him that he does not have the emotional resources not energy to address those feelings. He also says that people are taking advantage of his inability to cope with his state, which hurts him even more. This theme returns in their next album "Take a Look in the Mirror" with the song "Countin On Me" ("You see the pain in my face While you keep putting me down"). He tells them to satisfy their hunger to mess with him elsewhere and leave him alone. He says that he can't bear this anymore and wants to end the pain by leaving the places where people are causing (some of) the unbearable feelings. No one's there means that he is helpless and there is no hope. In conclusion, this song has nothing to do with him being angry at people copying his music for it is much deeper than that. He is talking about those around him who are supposed to be supportive, but who instead show insensitivity and take advantage of him. |

| I totally agree. The video is a clear portrayal of the war with Iraq. the plain flying into the two cube "towers", then the war between the kids. This video exposes how senseless and brutal all of it is--as depicted by the coffin of dead American soldiers supposedly killed in Iraq. | |
