CocoRosie – Hairnet Paradise/Nothing but God Lyrics | 13 years ago |
What version are these lyrics from? |
CocoRosie – The Afterlife Party Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This reminds me of when I was a child and after funerals we'd go to the grieving family's house and all the kids would watch movies while the adults talked and whatnot. Even the Boyz II Men cover part of the song ties in with the funeral aspect. |
Nico – Chelsea Girls Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The Dropout part has got to be about Edie. |
CocoRosie – The Moon Asked the Crow Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love the Bloody Twins reference they made. |
CocoRosie – Undertaker Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I'm pretty sure that search evil blunder is such evil blunder. |
CocoRosie – Fairy Paradise Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Heartless coward, bird of beak When life's too short to speak Sounds like: Heartless cold, brittle beak. When life's too shocked to speak That's what I'm hearing. |
CocoRosie – Bear Hides and Buffalo Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I remember re-reading Island of the Blue Dolphins over and over as a child as it was one of my favorite books. And I love that CocoRosie tied that in with this song. |
Laura Veirs – July Flame Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is a double entendre of sorts. At least I interpret it that way with July Flame being interpreted as a type of peach or a summer love interest. |
CocoRosie – Lemonade Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Upon further listening I think, "Shut the barbed to the exit window" is "Shut the bar to the exit window". |
CocoRosie – Animals Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I saw an interview the other day with Sierra talking about how she felt really left out during a great deal of her childhood and that she befriended animals as she preferred them much more over people. Makes sense, since she sings the chorus. |
CocoRosie – Oh Sailor Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh Sailor is the same song as Tahiti Rain Song. |
CocoRosie – Lemonade Lyrics | 14 years ago |
If I may make some corrections, I believe that instead of: "We'll see some spirit thing, Simon's popping his lemonade." it's actually, "We'll sing on Spirit Lake, just me, my brother, and his lemonade." "We saving kids" is "We seven kids" "We climb the hell and snowing rains" is "We climb the hills in snowing rain" & "God lust in father's singing" is "Got lost in father's singing" |
Hearts Revolution – Ultraviolence Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think the line you didn't get is: La-la-la-la-la-la and you were my friend! That's what it sounds like to me, anyway. I also agree with the "too late too long" line. |
HEARTSREVOLUTION – Prism Effect Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Does Cory Kennedy sing this song? |
CocoRosie – Tahiti Rain Song Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I always think of the end of the film Pierrot Le Fou when I listen to this song. |
Shy Child – Drop The Phone Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"And make it clear, know how and when to suck it. And when to blow." Delightful. Obviously this song is about the obsession of cell phones. This song comes to mind every time I see someone glued to their Crackberry or shouting on a Bluetooth in the grocery store. |
Black Kids – I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
My interpretation of the song is about two girls who are best friends. The first girl has finally met someone she can call her best friend. She's been waiting for someone like this her whole life. But then the girl's friend gets a boyfriend. Inevitably, it's the realization that she's losing her friend. And the girl doesn't want to aid the situation with teaching him kick-ass dance moves. That would definitely be the end. |
CocoRosie – Left Hand Shoe Lyrics | 14 years ago |
From what I gather, it seems the sisters like Michael Jackson: "Michael Jackson, he's an angel" As if to say, even though people may think he is a freak, don't be scared of him because he is a genuinely good person on the inside. He is an angel. I'm not really sure how that ties in with the title of the song, though. The incessant screaming adds a creepy factor too. |
