I think this is my favourite of his new EP. I love the instrumental parts, they're so lovely. the song has a really nice pace as well. when he sings "and when I came into your room" the music get's that nervous kind of sound like its leading up to something. anyway, very cute song. |

i adore this song, its so sweet. Im guessing its a song about a failing relationship, but they do love eachother.. maybe one more than the other. "In the electrical storm you were running wild, you had a death wish you were a child" someone was too immature for the relationship? "I came to bearing a lightning bolt, if you came back as the deep sea, I would come back as the salt" saying if they had another chance in another lifetime maybe they would? something like that. "But it’s ugly, it’s ugly now yeah I know, but you never give things enough time to grow It's like driving through a carnival, it doesn't always have to be beautiful.. Unless its beautiful" its hard but worth it if its something beautiful? "Love is to much for me and now the wall needs to grow" too painful? someone cheating when theyre drunk, saying break up when youre sober? "when your head stuck in a tightening vise, your ears are deaf to your friends’ advice" when you are infatuated or in love, you ignore or cant/dont want to listen to friends advice, even if you know theyre right. i love that line. i dont know if any of this makes sense to anyone else. ahaha. i tired. |

i dont mind the song, i think it is growing on me.. but i think older bloc party albums were better. Intimacy Bloc Party really went down the party/club music direction, but i dont think there was as much variation in their songs, they seem to be steering in another direction to Intimacy but off from old albums, thats how i kind of see it. i think i was almost repeating myself, but yeah much prefer previous albums, but thats just my opinion. |

"When your shutters are open all the way When it's candlelight I see I go insane" - theyre with someone else, and its driving you insane. "Always and forevermore I call to say I'm on the way 2000 years remain in a trash can" - you could always rely on me. last as long as (eg)colloseum, but knowing its not worth it/thinking this. "I stand outside under broken leaves I know I can't do without The future's trying to wait I've never loved you And if I loves you I wouldn't say that I'm sorry oh no I stand outside under broken leaves" - your hoping for a future, and waiting but you dont think it will happen, and you cant say "i love you" because youll want to take it back if they say no.or if its an ex and theyve said no. could be something along those lines maybee PeppermintB makes an excellent point though. the history of them together etc. love the song. so good :) |
