omg as I was reading this I couldn't help but reply I agreed so much! I love this song, and yes it throws you off at first, and it makes some people uncomfortable (why do you think that is?) Why does it jolt people to hear a woman wants to be raw and vulgar? Because we're so used to men being this way it's accepted--expected. And we don't judge them for it. But Damien's distaste for her behavior in the song is evident...and he makes it clear that her "want" does not succeed as an true identity, it's more of a cover. I feel like this is what he's saying but there're specific lines that puzzle me. |
