| "Romantically phrased" throws out that it's a Christian thought? The concept of the song is a full Christian song... it could very well be a worship song.. worship is pretty much all romantic music towards God.. or at least should be. :/ The reason everyone "turns" music made by Christians into bible verses is because they were written that way. There's something that needs to be added here... All of the lyrics are permissible(short of sin.. which cuts out so much..) but what needs to be added to songs that are depressing.. or albums that are really depressing is the hope in life... is the hope in each situation.. There's gotta be more music put out that tells of a situation and says that God can help or did help him/her out of that hellhole of a place... the trial that became the testimony.. So.. Jesus music doesn't have to be worship music(meaning.. I love Jesus, he loves me... so on and so on).. It could be praising through describing an event and Victory over it... |

Mmm.. (Creed's not really Christian, btw.. they rode the ride like many others..) The reason /I/ don't listen to many of the 'good' bands you mentioned is because of such depth I'll be missing.. all the text you placed that were in CAPS was just mindless babble.. much like too many of the songs by those bands... (green day couldn't find a way into their fans hearts anymore so they bashed government.... Green day wouldn't last a day in politics.. they'll just say bomb everyone and all of their fans would scream YEAH!!.. even though that includes them..) Christian band have potential to be much more than they're cliched to be. God can save anyone from any circumstance through faith and His grace... there are so many stories that could be told through music but too many bands choose to 'water it down' because they want more fans... Nowadays you'll find a handful of Christian bands that are a million times better lyrically and musically than the junk so many people are filling their minds with.. (As Cities Burn, mewithoutYou, Switchfoot, Underoath, Relient K('s new album is awesome), Search The City, Oh, Sleeper, Emery.. and probably more that I haven't found..) |

wow. I believe the focus is off everywhere.. this whole thing about age within this comment area.. barack obama saying he's christian /and/ muslim(>__>) ... Being a Christian is being 'like Christ'... No one can obtain the life that he led way back when.. but we're to be as much as possible like Him.. and that's why the 'Christian' has been looked down upon by society.. I think that 'Christianity' (of America) deserves it because of so much hypocrisy.. so many people who carry their crosses on their necks just to have a sense in their mind that they're going to heaven... It's not just Catholics.. It's not just Baptists Christians or any other denomination... it's not just Britney Spears... it's everyone who's not living just to love others the way Jesus did, for the Creator. ~ |

This song is quite a bit better than must have done something right and mood rings.. I've been there since their first album and this song is one of the best they've ever made.. this album is tied with their first album for the most creative and fun... and... awesome.. haha.. the new drummer adds much to the sound but the whole band just sounds a lot more mature now.. it's good listenin'. ^_^ |

'keep my music agnostic'... ha. wish I could go around all of the secular music meanings and say 'gosh.. keep my music Christian, mann.' It's just not something you say. and This is a place for interpretation of the songs.. what you get out of the song.. so you can't just throw off someone's comment on a song with "I don't think this song is Jesus music" or "I don't like that you Christians always bring up God.".. so they see that the song could help them in a spiritual aspect... What's so wrong with that...? I think if a song is making a world a better place for many people's minds then let it be... And on that note.. get to know some true whole hearted Christians who want to do nothing but simply love the world as Jesus did... then be able to say that Christianity is a heist and idiotic.. It's something that changes hearts.. and shouldn't ever be taken lightly. |

I don't think you need to 'say' you're a "christian band' to be able to write some spiritual things... It's a part of life for many many people and artists like to write about their lives... soo.. the reason I see this song as a very God-desperate song ( I hate that everyone else in this forum uses "religious" for religious just means going through rituals.. it's nothing extremely personal and intense) are the lines : you come over unannounced. silence broken by your voice in the dark. This is the very feeling you'd get if you had a true experience with God... it's like a voice that shatters the darkness... just pure light. |

Hm? Noone's got it, yet? I had this understood a while back... but.. well.. here we go.. I'll give my interpretation cause it was something I related to at the time the CD came out. He is "tired of the Timothy Hay" Timothy Hay is a very general diet and basically what farm animals eat all the time... He wants more out of life and what he's living for.. the mundane, monotonous, daily routines aren't what he wants. There are many many stories mixed in to give the song some flow but that's pretty much the point. |

Not at all. Fences was way different.. Fences started with a B scale playing on the bass with the drums doing some sort of jazzy thing... This song starts with guitars doing some power strumming with strong intricate drums all throughout... If the album is just as good as this song.. It'll be pretty awesome.. They're musicianship is getting better and better.. and I hope they have more songs like We Are Broken and My Heart... if you get what I'm saying. ..
