Breathe Carolina – I'm the Type of Person to Take It Personal Lyrics 14 years ago
Best song off the new album.

"Nobody make a move, everybody on the ground.
Let me see your hands, bring the fucking cameras out.
You better use your head. You better use your head.
Before we take it off your mother fucking shoulders."

Best part.

By the way, sorry my comment was so long lol. But I really think it's worth reading. It makes a lot of sense and ties in with a lot of what happened.

Drop Dead, Gorgeous – I Want to Master Life and Death Lyrics 14 years ago
So I know I'm kind of late with my post, but I was just thinking of something.
I've always thought that the pastor was the killer.
At first I thought that he killed himself as the last "murder" because he couldn't take what he was doing anymore, and that the signs of stuggle were just wounds and bruises from other things, like when his victims tried to stuggle away from him.
But I just had a thought: it never said on the website that they found the gun that shot him.
They would be able to tell what type of gun shot him from the bullet that was recovered from his body, so the gun didn't really have to be there.
If he committed suicide, then the gun would have been there, but it never goes into detail about it.
So what if the gun wasn't found at the scene of the crime?
It also says on the website that "it is unsure if this murder is connected with the others." Why would they go through the trouble of putting that there if it wasn't for a reason? They never said that they were unsure if all of the other murders were connected.
So, who killed the killer?
"Christ no more" is obviously an anagram of the pastor's name, Chris T. Monroe.
I have a feeling that whoever killed him was tourturing him before they shot him. That's where the "signs of struggle" are from. At one point during the torture, he was in a pew and carved "Death is upon all of us. It comes in the shape of an angel." Instead of signing with his name, he says "Christ no more" because he can't work through God to kill sinners anymore.
He says "death is upon all of us" because he is being killed, even though he didn't think anyone would be able to kill him. He thinks that since he, a killer, is being killed, then everyone in the town is meant to die.
"It comes in the shape of an angel" makes me think that the person who killed him was his wife. He, along with the whole town, thought that his wife was dead. That would make him think that she came as an angel to kill him. He says "angel" instead of something like "ghost" because she was his wife, and he loved her. She is also an angel because she was close to God.
This song talks about his wife, and how he thought she was dead. "I would do for you what you did to me, even kill": he thought that he killed is wife by accident because God wanted her to die, and this event somehow made him believe that God wanted him to kill women that committed sins.
"I swear, I swear, you won't find her body" gives a hint that she is still alive. Maybe he did something with her body, and had the townspeople believe that she was creamated or that she went missing and assumed that she died from something else, because he didn't want people thinking that he murdered her. Since he killed her by accident, maybe he thought the body would have had signs showing that the cause of death was murder. So he threw her body in the river, or did something else with it that would allow her to be able to get up when she awoke from unconsciousness (which the pastor mistook for her being dead). He thought no one would find it because no one would be looking for it, but "you won't find her body" is also like dramatic irony. Since she's still alive, you wouldn't be able to find her body anywhere.
I'm guessing that she was angry at him for hurting her and dumping her somewhere afterward, and maybe she even found out about the other murders and assumed that it was him, so she killed him.
Now, because he was a psychopath, he saw himself in God like he was looking into a "mirror", and he killed women who committed sins because that's why he thought God allowed his wife to die. This song is basically him having a flashback to when his wife "died" as he is dying. At first he thought killing the women would purify them of their sins in some way, because they wouldn't be able to commit sins anymore, but he eventually realized that killing was not a Godly thing to do, it was a Devilish thing. But he couldn't stop himself. I think he thought that his wife coming as "an angel" to kill him was God telling him that what he had done was wrong.

I See Stars – Project Wakeup Lyrics 14 years ago
It seems to me that something bad happened, but someone else is telling whoever is talking that's it's really not that bad.
"You know I'm right" and "Whatever helps you sleep" makes me think that the other person is lying to themselves. Whatever happened really is bad, and they need to "wake up" and realize that they're wrong.
When he says "I don't have any intentions of spinning you in this direction," he's saying that he won't actually tell the other person out loud that they're wrong. I think he wants them to figure it out for themselves.
That's all I've got though.

I love this song!

The lyrics are pretty self explainatory.
A girl he was with cheated on him and now he's mad at her.

Go Radio – Forever My Father Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm pretty sure that the girl singing is his sister and the other guy singing is his brother. He also has a band called Stages and Stereos.

I saw Go Radio live a few months back, and this song is even better live. I got all teary eyed lol.
But seriously Jason Lancaster is like my hero for his amazing lyrical and musical abilities.

Mayday Parade – Anywhere But Here Lyrics 14 years ago
I think it's missing something because Jason Lancaster wasn't with them to help make the new album.
Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but Jason Lancaster is like a lyrical and musical genius, haha.
Either way, I still love Mayday Parade and I can't wait for the new album. :)

I See Stars – 3D Lyrics 14 years ago
"When the power of love
Exceeds the love for power
The world will finally know peace."

Isn't that a Jimi Hendrix quote?
lol

But that does back up the meaning behind it. Many Americans from the 1960's, including Jimi Hendirx, hated the government.

Breathe Carolina – Welcome To Savannah Lyrics 15 years ago
Okay, Breathe Carolina just posted the correct lyrics on their Myspace so I changed everything so it's fully correct now :]

To me, it's about a girl who needs to look perfect all the time to fit in with a certain crowd. She feels pressure from the others to look beautiful all the time, and it's taking a toll on her self-esteem. Even though she's in the clique of people that she's always wanted to be in, she's not happy and she feels bad about herself, probably because her "friends" constantly put her down about her appearence. The way she deals with it is cutting herself. Even though she looks pretty on the outside, it's not really her, it's what the others want her to be, and she's hurting on the inside.

Pierce the Veil – She Makes Dirty Words Sound Pretty Lyrics 15 years ago
I kind of agree with satasays. It's like someone on the outside (the listener) is learning about a relationship from only the couple's phone conversations. The choruses are the girl's words, and the verses are the boy's words.
The couple got into a fight, and the girl is saying that the guy isn't treating her like he should be. (first chorus)
They guy thinks sex will make her forget about the fight.(first verse)
It doesn't say it in the song directly, but the couple has sex. Other things happen that the listener doesn't know about (because they don't happen over the phone), but then another phone conversation happens:
They get into another fight. (second chorus)
Then the guy breaks up with the girl. (second verse)
"Who wouldn't let me be all alone? Who wouldn't let you scream ohh into a soft pillow?"
The guy thinks they'll eventually find other people.

"I'm such an animal, and baby, honestly these teeth won't let you go."
I think this part is the only part that isn't part of the phone conversations.
The guy is thinking about the breakup, and he's kind of saying that the only reason he broke up with her was because he didn't want to hurt her anymore.
The guy still has feelings for the girl, even though she doesn't think so.
I have a feeling that they started talking again in person, and started dating again.
But then, the last chorus shows that they're fighting again over the phone.

Basically, this song is about on-and-off relationships. Even though it seems like you really love the person, you just keep getting into fights, then you break up, but then you get back together.
You just keep going in circles, and nothing ever really progresses.
This song is beautiful by the way. (:

I Set My Friends On Fire – Ravenous, Ravenous Rhinos Lyrics 15 years ago
I think Matt is talking about not just one song, but all of them.
He's asking himself if people actually listen to the lyrics and appreciate them, or if they just like a certain song because of the beat/guitars/etc.
He's saying a song wouldn't be a song without the lyrics.
Words complete songs and give them meaning, and he's wondering if other people realize this.
He's also saying that there can't just be random words put to a beat, the lyrics actually have to make sense. They have to be about something meaningful.

I Set My Friends On Fire – Things That Rhyme With Orange Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the title has to do with the meaning of the song.
The word "orange" is supposed to be a unique word, there aren't supposed to be any real words that rhyme with it.
I think Matt is saying that you should be like the word orange. Be yourself, be unique.
Sometimes, people try to think of words that rhyme with orange, but they're not real words.
Basically, people try to make themselves like something else, but that's not who they really are. They're being fake, usually to try to fit in with the "popular" croud.
And Matt doesn't want to be like the people that try to think of words that rhyme with orange, he wants it to be left alone, so it can be itself and be unique.
He wants to be himself, but the presures of society are telling him (and other people that want to act themselves) to conform to society, and not be one of a kind like the word orange.
Great song, and great message too.
