I love this song, and it's not just because my name is Kathleen either. I think ckad79 pretty well nailed it. This girl is at a party and the narrator/singer takes it on himself to look out for her, which is pretty sweet. |

Meaningless trivia time: I don't know who has or hasn't seen TPB the movie (the Trailer Park Boys movie, otherwise known as the funniest movie of all time) but The Dark Canuck is the movie Julian goes to see with his stripper date. Actually, all the names of movies on the marquee sign outside the movie theatre are songs by Canadian bands. And of course, Gordon Downie plays one of the cops during the "hellacocksucker" chase scene at the start.

This is probably my favourite song of all time. There's that deep, layered feeling you get in all of Daniel Lanois' songs, unbelievable guitar playing, and lyrics that are more than just beautiful, they show that he understands what he's singing about.
