Haha, almost everything. From Of Montreal, to Minus the Bear, to Dance Gavin Dance, to Earth Wind and Fire, to Mozart. I mostly just want to find new music, but I also want to share & basque in the glory of the music I already love. |
Young the Giant – I Got Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is the kind of song where the melody and his voice pluck the heart strings, regardless of what they're singing about. |

Tokyo Police Club – Favourite Food Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Instantly fell in love with this song. Reguardless of its meaning, it's fantastic. |
Phoenix – Girlfriend Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I love the condtradictions in the song. "die and succeed" seems a little suicidal, but i can dig it. that'd make sense though, because being super in love with someone can often be refered to as being "fatal" great song any way you look at it. |
Guster – Satellite Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Minus the Bear – Knights Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ok, here's my opinion. There's this couple and the guy just uses her for sex. he is always trying to "pay her back" with materialy things, or just cold hard cash. but that's not what she wants at all. she wants his love, "I know it ain't the money Girl, there never was money" He knows what she wants, but he really doesn't love HER he loves her body. "a piece of you for a piece of me" a piece of ass for a piece of his heart. "is it really a sin if we both come out even?" he starts to wonder if it's really so bad to love her for who she is, not just what she is. and if he does love her, he'll still get ass... she'll just be more willing to give it to him. the money is a metaphore, as well as a literal term. you gotta think about the situation he's refering to, the way he sings the lyric, just the lyrics themselves... all simultaniously to really feel what he's saying. it's just myyyy opinion though. it's not a statement of fact. |
Minus the Bear – El Torrente Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"He had a daughter He hoped to live through Four years old, ten years to this girl" Ok. His daughter is four, and he wants her to live past that. but she's ten years reach to the dead girl's age, meaning the dead girl is 14. "please let my girl go without knowing what i know don't let her read this day on my face when i come home" He wants his daughter to live her life not fearing death, the terrible things that are out there, and the tradgic possibilities of a small slit up in certain situations in life. such as climbing a tree and slipping and falling to your death. and he doesn't want her to see the fear on HIS face after he comes home from this crime scene. As he writes down all the things on her body (bruises, cuts, broken bones) he sees all the things that could happen to his own daughter, and TTHAT's what scares him most. This song is SOOOOOO beautiful. Tradgic, sad, scary. but beautiful none the less. |
Minus the Bear – Double Vision Quest Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song. Is -no contest- my number one favorite song. Simply because it's about music. And the song of life. Like the things we say and do, and the almost rhythmic way we live is a song. And the last line (the best line of the entire song) is saying that the flow in music is what keeps us going in life, and if we go with the flow, it's like a sedative. "and you put out what you put in" -life is what you make it. does that make sense? |
Minus the Bear – Hooray Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song just makes me think of where i live. It never snows here. Ever. but when it does, it's like a cold white paradise had fallen over the city. But it never really lasts long and it always 'melts to rain'. but we take it in and make the best of it for as long as we can. "this is all we want time to be with us a home to lift the cold" We want to control time so this will last longer, but we want the usual warmer weather to lift the cold from this freezing snow. "still cold, the snow's turning into rain and melting away and all these days slip by us so let's keep them" When the snow melts but it's still cold here. This snow isn't going to last long, but we keep it in our memories, and keep the rare moment in our hearts. Completely beautiful. |
Minus the Bear – Houston We Have Uh Oh Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Here's what i think: There's this group of photographers/ tourists. And they have a specific image that they want to capture. Such as things old and useless. Left behind, if you will. And although it's useless, there's still beauty in it, and they're trying to capture that. and they mention the people who used to live in these places and work in them, and they gave their lives to it. So it's almost like they want to comemorate those people by capturing these forgotten places and sharing it with the world when they go back home. i dunno. i could be completely wrong. but that's just what i see. |
Minus the Bear – When We Escape Lyrics | 15 years ago |
LUST. it's undoubtably about lust. These people are at a party. And they just have this incredible physical attraction. So they leave to go get it on. They do coke to enhance the moment, because it's most likely going to be a one night stand. that's just what i think. |
Minus the Bear – Pachuca Sunrise Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is no questions, no second thoughs, absolutely one of my all time favorites. Minus The Bear is one of my greatest inspirations. I am an artist, and the imigary in all of the songs is just so strong, it's definately the spark to help me create some of my greatest pieces. This song is just so hopeful. I listen to this song whenever i miss somebody or am unsure if something is gonna go well. i I would fall in love with a guy who love ANY minus the bear songs, and appreciates them as much as i do. because they are incredible. and anyone who doesn't like them, or hasn't heard them.... really doesn't know what they're missing. |
Minus the Bear – The Game Needed Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm not so sure it's about touring. just because of when it says "we're all just selling time you got a lot to lose the paper's a ticking clock you got a lot to lose" i just can't seem to see how that has anything to do with touring. but it's most definately a interesting and different perspaective on this song. i do think it has to do with money and sex. but i don't understand what this part means "there is no mouth to trace it's shape on you you seem to let it fuck you anyway" if someone could maybe clarify that for me? =] thanks. intense song. |
Minus the Bear – Michio's Death Drive Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song is most definately one of my favorites from them. the entire song is just incredible in every way. from the composition of the lyrics, to the composition of the music, to the different tones in his voice with each verse. i most definately agree with nemt. all of the Minus The Bear song titles have a great deal to do with the song. because i mean, most of their songs can not (or at least shouldn't) be taken literally. Which is one of the reasons why ALLLLLL of their songs are so captivating. |
Minus the Bear – The Pig War Lyrics | 15 years ago |
In the little booklet thing it says that this line is actually "the wind on the boat's deck is a cold hand on the neck or slipping into our cold bed" my favorite part is easily "forgetting to tell time just sit still we've moved enough" i love it. |
Minus the Bear – Dog Park Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it's actually "Yeah, she's wearing the nights expression but you gotta feel it" =] |
