Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Zero Lyrics | 14 years ago |
darn it i forgot the "was it the cure" "shell shock" parts... well the cure could be, has she made the right decision just being all about appearances. and the shell shock is the realisation that she is a no one, and no one cares for her real name. and then she hopes that she is still in a world where her lifestyle seems right and a good decision |
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Zero Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i really like all the ideas about the prostitution and being a social outcast my initial idea was that "zero" is like a size, like clothing size zero in america. and i thought that it is about someone who is appearance obsessed and has no real individual identity except trying to make it to the top, socially. No one cares about what they name is, or there opinon just that they look good. also the leather parts i think are not necessarily about s&m but the idea of leather as some sort of sexy outfit and protection to hid your true self in. So in conclusion it is about some thin floozy, no one cares about her really just that she looks good. and she puts on her "sized zero outfits" (the leather part) for appeal and protection. |
The Horrors – Primary Colours Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i had listened to the song a billion times and have only just looked properly at the lyrics. it seems to me that the lyrics and the music is about a high figure. Superman perhaps, if you like that idea. but what i have in mind was a religious figure. im not slaming anything so please dont post anything agressive after this. but by the messiha (i know that is a little obvious) and the throne and "Riding through town on a chariot high Glory adorned and immortalised" makes me think this. But just as i was typing this i got an idea that it may be about a hero, religious or not, but someone who is immortalised by it's people but has a wavering faith in themselves: "But as he falls asleep The coloured lights will keep Unwanted vigil over Where he is He doesn't know where he is." my view is that is it about a person that is trusted and has high expectations placed on themselves but doubts their ability, and can't comprehend their accent to the top. but i dont know how to link the "Primary Colours" part to it all. perhaps a sort of pure (primany, innocence (i remember primary colours from little kids painting) of the character. |

The Horrors – Sea Within a Sea Lyrics | 15 years ago |
just on a first glance i think this song is about taking a different route a different path to others, and there are dangers and challenges on the way but there is a feeling that there is no other way to go, this is the best option, the only way possible conceivable You are happy with your choices and there is no mention of another way |

Kasabian – Vlad The Impaler Lyrics | 15 years ago |
OMG first comment on this fabulous song this is such a great song sorry that i have not much to say in the way of a meaning but i must put a comment up i think it is just about a killer, just like the title and video clip explain. Noel is so scary and cool in the clip i think these sorts of songs their meaning can be about anything, like this is about a killer but what are they killing, something physical or emotional, an ideology, society?? |

Arctic Monkeys – 505 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
the line "The knife twists at the thought that I should fall short of the mark" refers to a T S Eliot poem, Rhapsody on a windy night. The last line is "The last twist of the knife" The poem is about a man wandering the streets at night with memories in his head. In the end he returns to his hotel room. does any one know any more. |

Arctic Monkeys – I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i am currently reading 1984 and yes there are no robots but i believe it refers to the type of people. If you know the novel the party people are like robots, obeying and living on nothing, and completing simple repetitive tasks. Perhaps they think electro - pop is generic and has no meaning just dancing, being part of the group. it could also be a stab at those electro - pop dance floor people and they would not know what 1984 is and not know was the Montagues or Capulets are. There is no deep meaning to them. This is what i think but i have not listen to it too much. I Love this song and the arctic monkeys and if someone has written a negative post on this what is the point. If you didn't bother write something we know you don't like them. Just leave your negative opinions for yourself. |

Robots in Disguise – Can't Stop Getting Wasted Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i love this tune the rhyms and the metaphors it's a real shame more people don't know about them Though that would probably make them too generic |
Robots in Disguise – La Nuit Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i don't think you should be analyzing this song like this. Perhaps they write in French and German in there songs not only and mainly for the translation of the word but also for the sound. Even though it is nice to understand what they are talking about one should enjoy the sounds, beat and music. I know a little french and i like knowing only a few of the line. It is fun to gain your own interpretation of it. If they wanted a solid and exact meaning they would have written in english. |
