Red – Losing Control Lyrics 5 years ago
For me, I feel it deals more with life not giving us a fair chance. Everyday, we have to struggle and fight against life, and more often than not, we lose.

I feel this song is just about a person who lost to life so many times, they feel that everything isn't going right, and they are releasing all of their frustration and anger at the world.

Cinema Sleep – The Response Lyrics 7 years ago
To me, I think this song is talking about a person from your past who you've cut ties with comes back and tries to convince you that your life and friends are not perfect and that you'd be better off with them. However, you refused to be fooled, citing them as nothing more than a 'ghost' who keeps to the past because they cannot look forward.

Starset – Carnivore Lyrics 8 years ago
An awesome song by Starset. I love it.

I feel the song is basically talking about letting your "inner self", the part of you that you keep locked up, out into the world.

The first verse talks about how the naysayers say you'll never be anything, but there's a part of you that refuses to accept that and it's anxiously awaiting for you to let it out.

The bridge is basically the naysayers talking saying the world doesn't need to hear you and to give up.

The chorus is basically you begging your inner self to come out and take yourself over so that no part of your former-self remains.

The second verse is just another part of the chorus, saying you'll be whatever your "inner self" wants you to be.

The part before the final chorus is saying that you're "real self" isn't enough and you need your "inner self" to take over.

Linkin Park – Rebellion (feat. Daron Malakian of System of a Down) Lyrics 9 years ago
I'm not entirely sure of the meaning song. I only know it sounds good.

But if I had to take an educated guess, I'd say that the song is basically saying, we're ungrateful. Every chance we take, we're saying bad things about our government and our way of life, but really, compared to other people in 3rd World countries, we have it good.

The chorus of the song hits it home:

We are the fortunate ones
Who've never faced oppression's gun
We are the fortunate ones
Imitations of rebellion

We're trying to ignite a fight against our government even though we have everything that others less fortunate wish they could have. Our government isn't perfect, of course; far from it, really. But still, it's better than most.

Trivium – Through Blood and Dirt and Bone Lyrics 10 years ago
I had to listen this song a couple of times before I could get the meaning. I'm still not sure, but I think this song is talking about revenge. The first verse comes from how the person feels he was wronged by the one who committed the crime. The second verse talks about how his vengeance is consuming him, and all he wants is wants to make the person feel how he feels.

The chorus brings in home, saying that he'll do whatever he can to make them feel his pain, even if he must drag them down with him. i.e. 'through blood and dirt and bone'.

The Veer Union – Bitter End Lyrics 11 years ago
I'm surprised no one's commented on this song yet. It's very awesome to listen to and I enjoy.

The meaning is obvious. Basically, it's about erasing who you used to be and creating someone new. Getting rid of all the self-doubt, the negativity you've been faced with, etc. You're getting rid of all it and making room for the new being that is you. The journey was long and hard, but it was worth it in the end.

As stated, it's an awesome song. I can definitely some religious meaning in it.

Kinda shocked that no one's commented on this song yet. I'm amazed at how well Missy used Daft Punk's Verdis Quo, since that's what caught my attention when I heard it on the radio one day. I listened to it and it speaks to me.

Basically the song is saying you can't give up on your dreams. You have to keep holding on to them, cause when you finally make them true, you can take pride in saying, 'I did it. I made it happen.'.

Hollywood Undead – Apologize Lyrics 12 years ago
To me, this song is basically talking about how parents think HU is a bad influence on their kids, what with their lyrics and scenes in their music videos. Basically, the group is saying they're not going to 'apologize' to the parents, because it the kids' choice to listen to them, and they're going to keep making music like this, whether they like it or not.

Good song, in my opinion. I respect HU for making the song, and I think it's wrong for the parents to try to oust the group when there are worse rappers out there with badder lyrics than HU.

Kevin Rudolf – I Made It (Cash Money Heroes) [feat. Birdman, Jay Sean, & Lil Wayne] Lyrics 13 years ago
Okay, I don't know if you pulled that ridiclous meaning out of your butt or something, but that is not what Rudolf, Wayne, Birdman, or Jay are talking about in their song. They're basically talking about how at first they were virtually nothing and could only think about what life is like being famous. They are giving shout-outs to the songs that made them famous.

And if you do think that's what the song is talking about, then picture yourself in their position. You'd love the famous life too, so... yeah.

I'm not exactly sure why he wrote this to 50 Cent. All I know is that it was mainly because Korn had gotten into a short-lived feud with 50. I don't know why they were feuding. Still trying to figure it out.

Kill Hannah – Acid Rain Lyrics 13 years ago
After listening to the song again, I realized something. The title 'Acid Rain' has some sort of meaning. As we all probably know, acid is 'poison' or 'toxic' of some sort. So, I think the singer is saying let acid rain fall so that both he and the girl could just vanish, along with all of their troubles.

Kill Hannah – Acid Rain Lyrics 13 years ago
Along with Living in Misery, I decided to listen to this song, as well. At first, I disliked it, but now I can't stop listening to it.

Like many songs on the Wake Up the Sleepers album, I think this song deals with love of some sort. The singer finds a girl in the rain, and she is just standing there soaking wet, just watching the rain as it pours from the sky. He imagines it as being a scene straight out of a movie, and he pictures himself going to talk to her. Suddenly, the girl tells all about her troubles and starts crying, which is he says 'let it rain', so that no one can see her tears.

That's just my $0.02. Feel free to have a different opinion.

Kill Hannah – Living In Misery Lyrics 13 years ago
I didn't think much of this song when I first heard, but for some reason it popped into my head today, and I decided to listen to it again. I must admit, it sounds very good, especially with Amanda Palmer singing as well.

Basically, I think this song is about how a couple is going through a hard time right now, but they keep telling themselves that they'll make it through. It could be the same with the world in general. We all are going through hard times, but as the quote goes, 'What doesn't kill us, only helps to make us stronger.'

I agree with half of the people on the page. If you guys hate the band and the song so much, then why are even on the page commenting? We don't care about your comments and we don't care if you think the song is stupid. The 'true' fans understand the song and like them, so if you don't, then that's your problem. You haters can keep hatin'. HU will continue making money, the 'true' fans will continue listening to their music, and you haters can continue wasting your lives away hating. Cause its like I say, 'we need haters. Why? Cause it makes us realize we're doing something right.'

Sonic The Hedgehog – Unknown from M.E - Knuckles' Theme Lyrics 13 years ago
This is probably my favorite song off of Sonic Adventure. I love how they make it sound like Knuckles is talking and singing. This song totally describes him to the core.

Here I come, rougher than the rest of them the best of them, tougher than leather: Basically, its saying Knuckles is tough.

You can call me Knuckles, unlike Sonic I don't chuckle: Meaning, while Sonic is a laid-back kind of guy, Knuckles is always serious.

Born on an island in the heavens: Knuckles was born on Angel Island.

The blood of my ancestors flows inside me: Self-explantory.

My duty is to save the flower from evil deterioration: His duty is to protect the Master Emerald from all who would seek to use it for evil purposes.

Streaking lights, loud sounds, and instinct
Are the elements that keep me going: The thrill of fighting is what keeps Knuckles from giving up.

I am fighting my own mission: He's debating between doing his duty, which is guarding the Master Emerald, or living his own life. He's conflicted.

Nothing's gonna stand in my way: He refuses to let anything distract him from his duty or get in his way.

Won't be frightened I'll stand up to all the pain and turmoil: Knuckles won't back down. He'll fight against all those who spread pain and misery.

Just believe in myself don't rely on others: Self-explantory. Saying that Knuckles will do things by himself, without anyone's help.

Get this power to wipe out the havoc and anarchy: He'll use all of his strength to wipe out evil.

This is my planet gonna fight for my destiny: Angel Island is his home and he'll fight to protect it.

I have no such things as weak spots: Knuckles has no weaknesses.

Don't approve of him but gotta trust him
This alliance has a purpose
This partnership is only temporary: At first, I thought these lines were referring to Eggman, but then I realized he was talking about Sonic. He's saying that he doesn't like Sonic that much, though the two of them are friends. He won't always rely on his help, but will when he has too.

Freedom will be waiting when serenity is restored: When the fight is over, peace will be waiting.

This is my planet I shall not surrender: He'll never surrender or give up the fight, nor his home.

Johnny Cash – Ain't No Grave Lyrics 14 years ago
I first heard of this while watching wrestling and it was on a promo for Wrestlemania 26, and it was being played for Shawn Michaels and Undertaker, for their upcoming match, which was very good, I might add.

I think the singer is saying that he can't die, no matter what. Even if he gets put in the ground or in a coffin, he can't die, because he still has something he has to do in this life. He'll always be remembered by people, and that's why he can never die. It truly speaks to me in some way. I don't know why. It just does.

R.I.P. Johnny Cash (1932-2003) I thank you for making this song.

Trivium – Throes of Perdition Lyrics 14 years ago
I was looking at the lyrics, and realized it was kinda of hard to read. Plus, there are some wrong words in there. Here are the right lyrics:

Blind-folded and gagged, stood waiting
With the whole world: my firing squad
At the edge of the world I'm faced out
Staring the sun right in the eye

Vultures circle above, hyenas mocking the kill
Excrement drooling down their chins
Atop the cliffs I look down, into the starving Hell-mouth
The rabid foam crashes hard on it's teeth

Their mouth's salivate
Fantasizing my gruesome ending
This world looks down upon
A man who can stand on his own two feet

As they're feeding their guns: "ready, aim"
They say I'll live, if I die for their cause
Living under the rule of fellow Cro-Magnon fool
They fear who leads and will kill to stay still

Their mouth's salivate
Fantasizing my gruesome ending
This world looks down upon
A man who can stand on his own two feet
(Without eating from their claws)

Life feels like Hell should
But this Hells so cold
Pull another knife out
Stick it with rest of them
When my back is full
Turn me around to face it

Such melancholy, burning the stars from skies
Sob so heavily, we choke, then we die

DIE!

Life feels like Hell should
But this Hells so cold
Pull another knife out
Stick it with rest of them
When my back is full
Turn me around to face it

Life feels like Hell should
But this Hells so cold
Pull another knife out
Stick it with rest of them
When my back is full
Turn me around to face it

Life feels like Hell should
But this Hells so cold
Pull another knife out
Stick it with rest of them
When my back is full
Turn me around to face it

Sob so heavily, we choke, then we die!

Trivium – Shogun Lyrics 14 years ago
When I listen to this song, I think of the Seven Samurai. In the beginning, the seven of them were hired by a warlord to fight a battle, though they didn't want to because they felt their was no honor in joining with him. In the beginning of the song, all seven of them are fighting against their lord's enemies. When the song gets to the middle, after the second chorus, the battle is quickly reaching its climax, and the samurai's side is winning, but their lives are lost as a result, or so they thought. When the song starts to get slow, the samurai are all lying unconscious.

They soon wake up, but are wounded, and are looking around at the battlefield, at all of the bodies lying there. Seeing as they have no more meaning to be on the battlefield, they start to walk off, but can't as they are so wounded. They collaspe near a village, where they are healed and are treated kindly by the villagers. But soon they hear that their former warlord plans to attack the village. The seven samurai fight once more against the warlord, and succeed in destroying him and their army. However, they all lose their lives once more. They are remembered by the villagers for their sacrifice.

To me, this song talks about the government feels soldiers lives are expendable, and that they quickly be replaced. The line 'you will lose so much more' proves that. The government wins the war, but they lost so many of their troops' lives. But the soldiers don't care about this, because they are fighting to protect something that is very dear to them, but the government fails to see this.

Yeah, feel free to agree or disagree. Just wanted to put my opinion in.

Trivium – Poison, the Knife or the Noose Lyrics 14 years ago
The meaning of the song is simple. In life, there will always be people who will try to make you do things that go against your morals or ethics. They will try to as Matt says, 'Coax you to make the leap into Hell'. But you must hold fast to your faith, and never let them tempt you. If they want to do wrong, then let them do wrong, but you must never submit to them.

Great song, Trivium. Definetly goes in one of my Top Ten.

The Pillows – One Life Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is somewhat similiar to Hybrid Rainbows in a respect. The singer is saying that no matter what kind of struggles he has in his life or what the darkness to try to possess him, he won't be brought down or swayed, because he has someone special to him who is the light in his soul, and they are what keeps him there. A good song.

Brian Head Welch – Die Religion Die Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm a Christian and a Baptist, but there are times when I also can't stand my religion. Not because of church, or doing what I know is right to get into Heaven. But its because like you all said, people are so concerned with rules and organization that they really have a real relationship with Christ. All religions today are the same; they all preach about the same thing, but to me religion is, if the #1 reason, then one of the main reasons for war. They all preach about peace and loving each other, but we are so quick to accuse each other that what we are worshipping and believing in is 'wrong' or 'incorrect'.

I thank Head for making this song, and I hope it gets the message across to all who hear it.

This song is possibly the height of T.I.'s growth in both as a rapper and a human being. He knows he's made a mistake when he carried a gun with him, so he has to take responsibility for his actions. This song is telling both his fans and all of the people who hate him, not to worry, cause he'll be back once he's done making up for what's he done. And having Mary J. with him in the song, makes it more melodic and good. Peace to you, T.I. I hope to see you again when you come out, man and look forward to hearing more of your music.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I picture it at the end of a movie, where the main character has been through some ordeal with his life or something, and suddenly someone walks or runs past him, someone he remembered or someone who helped through his ordeal. Rev Theory – Voices Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this talks about a person who is in a society where people have gained power by cheating their way to the top, instead of doing it in an honesty way. So, the person realizes he can't trust anyone but himself and he won't listen to anyone's opinions, but the ones in his head, meaning the voices. He won't listen to anyone, but himself. If the choice is right, then its right.

Daft Punk – Something About Us Lyrics 14 years ago
Its February, which means Valentine's Day, will be coming up soon. I've never really cared for it, because its a day when my ex left me for someone else. She didn't have the heart to say it to my face, so instead she left it in a card, that simply said, "Its over." And the next day, I see her with someone else, and I felt my heart break into a million pieces. So, when I come home from school, I turned this song on and cried my eyes out. I hope she listens to this song as well, and I think back on what she had.
