I love the hypnotic riff...it's like the blankness in your eyes when your revisiting memories, so easy to just fall into and become all dazed by the past. |

I didn't get the whole 'souless relationship' vibe. That's 'Play Crack the Sky'
I definitly can see the abortion thing though. There's the line about sleeping in the same place (that the child was convieved) and hoping to wake up as the same people. Him being a liar (saying he's okay with the abortion) and her being the theif (of the life inside of her). Also the 'there you go' gives the life a pronoun, where'there it goes' degrades it, as if it's something to be put behind them, in the past. This is one of my favorite songs off of Daisy and the guitar is so delicate and graceful in the intro it chills me. |

I'm using this song for speech class where we have to recite a song that reads like poetry. This song is so beautiful and it makes me want to live and get the most out of life. |

This boy I once knew used to write this in notes he'd give to me. It wasn't until a year or so later i typed in the lyrics and found this band. He then left the cd by my locker. This is one of my favorite songs in general. I love the lyric "If I were you then I would memorize this loose lipped lullaby instead of waiting carving out your own". It makes the song seem like the person it was written about wanted more than was offered to them. Universal theme much? |

This song is so beautiful live that it can bring tears to your eyes. I listened to this song so much when I thought my relationship was failing. I've always had a thing for the line "This story's old but it goes on and on until we disappear", because this song is about love and losing it, and that particular line is about life, and how your love story can get old, especaially if it's a sad one, and it just stays that way until you die.
God I love this song. |

Wow, I am so happy there's a new song! I think the lyrics are really ineresting and the guitar is definitly one of my beloved Brand New. I read in an AP interview with some other band (it was subtly dropped) that Brand New is now just laying vocals and are wrapping up recording soon!? |

This song always gets me. The beging quitar is so beautiful it draws you in so fast, and the meloncholy in Jesse Lacey's voice makes this song extreamly sincere. The song's about somehow mutilating a realationship, but also human flaws. I really wish they would have played this song at least one of the two times I've seen them. |

Youth Group – All This Will Pass Lyrics

I was so happy when my boyfriend put this on a mixtape for me! Although this song is definitly not the story of our relationship, I hadn't hear new Youth Group in so long...anyway, it's pretty much about a girl betraying her boy, and it's about trying to heal. I don't think they fix things, but if certain conditions were right or if certain words were said, maybe, but in the end, all of this will pass. She'll eventually get it right and they will both move on. |

It's about being at a point in your life where you don't know where you're going and it's terrifying. Everyone lives it and tries to escape it, but being on trial and feeling insignificant will happen to everyone at one point or another. I love this song so much, me and my boyfriend listened to it so many times last year. I love the line "at least you've got nothing that holds on"... |

Oh, how I loved this song in 9th grade. So many aspects of this song are so great, the "I hate you for liking me" used to be somewhat of a mantra for me. This song strikes down on a real emotional level, and the guitar is beautiful. I was actually just playing it yesterday. It's definitly a song that sticks with you. |

I'm pretty much going to be listening to this next thursday all day. I'm turning 18 and mourning the loss of my childhood. To me this song is about growing up and losing parts of your soul to becoming a new person. It's confusing and you may or may not resent it, but there's no way to stop it and you can look back and see your young self, but your now old and not all aspects fit your new self, such as shoes. |

Conor Oberst – Milk Thistle Lyrics

This song always gives my boyfriend and me goosbumps. It's our favorite song off the album, and it's just kind of a testament to being melancholy, to being used to feeling used and down, but to think that good would be too easy and boring. My boyfriend calls me "Milk Thistle" because of this song. Because of the allusion to the liver disease, the song meaning is very clear because he "Was poised for gratness", but is now "down and out". amazing lyrics, amazing vocals. |
