Deer Tick – Goodbye, Dear Friend Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Some stories break your heart And some with such applaud Buried deep inside, where it's okay to cry Some boys won't shed a tear Oh, but *a tale like this (one) here* It can break down and get me where it hurts the most Just a quick correction. This song is so incredible it hurts, everytime I listen to it I can't help but think of those I've known that've passed from this place and I can't help but get tears in my eyes. Hauntingly beautiful. |
Tupac Shakur – If I Die 2nite Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"Never to witness the wicked shit that they was facin" He's basically calling people out on being weak, or otherwise incapable of facing or handling the "evil" they create via their actions in life, and they're scattering because they don't have enough spine to stand up and face it. Calling it a suicidal situation aims to give the hypothetical situation a life or death type aura, and he calls it suicidal because the consequences are the by-products of their own actions and thus their own doing to themselves. |
The White Stripes – The Same Boy You've Always Known Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Blitzen Trapper – Black River Killer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
yup, just a couple things from my change jar here. does anyone else think it makes more sense with the chorus instead of being, "Oh when, oh when/ Will the spirit come a calling for my soul to sin", saying "Oh when, oh when/ Will the spirit come a calling for my soul to send". Like when will the spirit come calling for me to send my soul to him, because the next line is a reference to a yearning for salvation so I'm just thinkin out loud, he's yearning for a god to find him. First line reference god second line reference salvation. Because the "holy spirit" wouldnt call for you to sin I dont think, that sounds contradictory. I'm not saying it is or it isnt but thats just me, not that it changes the meaning of the song or anything. Thoughts? |
Blitzen Trapper – Evening Star Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Had to steal the first comment on this song. I LOVE IT! Ridiculously fucking catchy. And these lyrics are AWESOME. "the black eyed angel of the evening star", I wish I could come up with something that cool sounding. |
The Mars Volta – Televators Lyrics | 15 years ago |
hmmmm, i am not sure about that. the album is about their frind from ATDI commiting suicide, if i'm not mistaken its supposed to be partly from his view in the coma and partly from the real world, seems like it goes between the two intermittenly. This song is him jumping. but it is interesting, auto de fe is definately spanish and portugese inquisition. its literal translation is act of faith and thats what they called the burning of heretics at the stake or the other gruesome tortures for people that committed heresy (spelling is wrong, i know, sorry). I'm honestly not sure what to make of it though. TMV lyrics just blow my mind. There's so many different ways to look at them and even more ways to interpret it. jesus christ these guys are amazing. |
The Mars Volta – Drunkship of Lanterns Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Nah, Televators comes after this. Between drunkship there's still eriatarka, cicatriz esp, and this apparatus must be unearthed. this sounds like a dumb question, but where can i get these books everyone is always talking about? i wanna read what the band has to say about the stories instead of trying to piece it together through comments. i know de-loused is about Julio and The Bedlam is about the spirit from the ouiji board. anyone wanna send me a link or something? it'd be much appreciated. thankssssss |
Modest Mouse – Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset Lyrics | 15 years ago |
what does it matter what he's doing when he writes the song. whatever he does or doesn't do that gives him this insight, doesn't matter. if you don't like the ideas or the songs don't listen to them. plain and simple. |
Modest Mouse – The Stars Are Projectors Lyrics | 15 years ago |
ZombieSlayer, i dig that. that actually makes perfect sense. Very nice. |
