"Don't deceive, come on back, the medicine is good again" should read "its dope to khalil, the medicine is good again" Khalil is Geo's band mate from their group Good Medicine. |

The Revolutionary Hydra – Professor (Pt. 2) Lyrics

There is a degree of just playful rhyming and aliteration here, and a dose of the standard hydra intellect. But I can't help but wonder if maybe Jay was listening to some Belle and Sebastian when writing this. The obvious link, refrences to a fox in the snow. |

The Revolutionary Hydra – Powerful Polarities Lyrics

wouldent the first line make sense more as
"There exists, inside of us, some powerful polarities"
i know sense dosen't always factor into hydra songs but Centibus really dosent make any sense at all. |

Lou Barlow – Mary Lyrics

awsome song, but I want to point out that the Immaculate Conception actually has nothing to do with Jesus' virgin conception, but instead Mary herselfs conception free of sin. Its a common misconception. |

Death Cab for Cutie – The Face That Launched 1000 Shits (Revolutionary Hydra cover) Lyrics

to clear up misinformation, Ben did not write this song. Jay Chilcote, of said Revolutionary Hydra did. The song also appears on the Rev Hydra/DCFC split cassette.
The Hydra-DCFC connection: Both bands were formed around the same time in Bellingham WA, and I am sure they knew eachother in the scene, if not in other ways. When the Hydra formed, they had no bass player (they still dont have a permanent one, they switch on and off), so they cycled thru various people on bass. Ben Gibbard played with them thru their second cd, The Antiphony. As well, Chris Walla has produced all of their CD albums, and is their "producer for life". (I was actually rooming with one of the Hydra guitarists the year both bands formed 1996/97) |
