David Ford – State of the Union Lyrics | 15 years ago |
yeah, except; America's been going through something bad for even longer than that... It was events from way back that were leading up to what we've gotten ourselves into now. But David Ford still rocks. =) |
Dave Melillo – Knights of the Island Counter Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I've always thought of this song as... You're at the peak of your young life (aka: graduating from highschool, college, w/e...) and your friends are just having one last good time before everyone has to move on. |
Taking Back Sunday – Everything Must Go Lyrics | 15 years ago |
man, i do love the beginning of this song. "You quote the good book when its convenient but you dont have the sense no you dont have the sense to tie your tangled tounge instead you slash it through the mud" ...You quote the good book when its convenient... man, that really hits home for me. You know, when someone makes sense, but you can't really explain it? |
Fountains of Wayne – Sink To The Bottom Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sorry, this doesn't really have anything to do with the song... but... WOW, delial, I've never seen anyone 'edit' his/her posts after 3 years. It's kind of cool seeing that you did, actually. (: |
She & Him – Change Is Hard Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I like this song, but I just wished that it was sung in a boy's perspective (Not that I have anything against female artists). It's just easier for me to connect with. Anyways, great song. :) I think the meaning's been pretty flushed out as is. :] |
Dropkick Murphys – I'm Shipping Up to Boston Lyrics | 15 years ago |
He may be 'reading waaaaaay to far into it', but I like his interpretation. =) |
Endeverafter – I Wanna Be Your Man Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is awesome. I think the meaning is pretty darn self-explanatory, =). He wants to be the other person's man. |
Say Anything – Got Your Money (ODB cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i'm pretty sure it's "FBI" great song =]. as for the song meaning? it's about the god of pimps named Max Bemis. |
Tenacious D – Chop Suey Lyrics | 15 years ago |
well, actually, Tenacious D did kind of make a cover of the song. But they never really did anything full, at least not what I've heard so far. |
Anthony Green – Plays Ugly For Daddy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I wish that he still used the name 'Rachel' though; just because I know a girl named rachel. besides that, great song. =) |
Say Anything – Hangover Song (feat. Anthony Green) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The first time I heard this song, I was extraordinaringly suprised. |
Say Anything – Hangover Song (feat. Anthony Green) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
man, as short as this song is... it depicts so much. I just love how it keeps rising and rising until it just suddenly ends. However, I do wish it was longer. |
Hollywood Undead – Christmas In Hollywood Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song is so damn sexy, definitely livens up my christmas! |
Ace Enders – Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve Cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
thanks, irthesteve. I've been trying to listen to who sang each verse... I can kind of tell the difference now, especially with Alexander Gaskarth and a few others. To tell you the truth, initially, they all sounded the same to me. But I can kind of tell now=]. great cover! |
Fall Out Boy – Growing Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
actually... it's probably going to be different a lot of people. But you are probably right in that he does sing, "i guess i'm on my own better half", however, the submitter probably heard a different version; I heard the same version. |
Sum 41 – Thanks For Nothing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Mitch, I agree with you in the fact that I also think that it is as equally important to do what you love as it is to go (either or) go to college. However, I partly agree with gofuckyourself in that people, generally, do have more respect for you if you've been through college and have a degree (I actually think that if you go through college not willing to make it and drop out several times, you actually lose more of this so called 'respect'). But I think he or she was being a bit to critical. There are many people who make it through their lives, fairly well off too, who did do not go to college. Take the famous example: Bill Gates. |
David Choi – That Girl Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song has many meanings, but I think the general, overall meaning is what rainage said in that it's about a guy who likes a girl but he does not want to accept it. |
Straylight Run – Mistakes We Knew We Were Making Lyrics | 15 years ago |
yeah, personally, this song is about you being despondent and just down and out. For whatever reason, you're just down. However, you realize that things are going to get better. So you're sort of optimistic. That's pretty much it. But I also think it can be about any relationship. great song. great stuff. great band. |
Hit the Lights – Her Eyes Say Yes, But The Restraining Order Says No Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is about a guy who found out about his girlfriend cheating on him, or anything parallel to that caliber. "Girl, you're busy and thats fine But theres one thing I gotta get off my mind I, Won't take too much of your time I promise this won't last long..." I think this was prior to him knowing that she cheated on him. "...,no I used to be your biggest fan, you Used to say I was your man, Now if I can't have you, no one can I'll be the last boy you hang up on" and this is after he finds out. "She's losing consciousness I'm gaining confidence It's starting to make sense woah woah oh She's covered in fingerprints From her lips to her hips All I wanted was one more kiss woah woah oh" And this is the twist in the story. Instead of her intentionally cheating on him she was raped, if you will. However, it was too late and he already 'killed' her. A: Killed as in... You know, killed. B: Killed as in... He forever ruined their relationship. Tonight I'll wait until I know you're fast asleep To poison you with memories Of you and me I pray you die slowly [die slowly] So I can be the last thing you see I pray you die slowly [die slowly] So i can be the last thing you see I pray you die slowly So i can be the last thing you see And now that he's found out that she didn't cheat on him, he's feeling bad. A: so he lies next to her on a bed waiting for her death. Just to let everyone know... I know this interpretation was awfully done. I just wanted to steer away from the whole, "he killed her indefinitely" thing. |
Infant Sorrow – Inside Of You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think that at the last verse he's trying to say, "usually I just blow off the person I get with and go for someone else. However, you're someone more special and I've never felt this way before." |
Takida – Reason To Cry Lyrics | 15 years ago |
well, on the surface, this song could be about his mother or father or just anyone who he cared about that died. .. "the bottle's empty" In my opinion, this can either signify that he's being pessimistic instead of optimistic. (i.e., the cup is half empty) "Since I heard that you died alone, finally home" he heard of their death and decided to go home, but he was too late. "with your back against the ground" death from a car crash, or something of the like. A pretty devastating death in all. Well, this is one of my first few interpretations, so sorry if it's a little off course. Also, I barely even scratched the surface for this song. Just wanted to give my 3 and a half yards at it cause no one else has so far. Great song. |
The Academy Is... – Pour Yourself a Drink Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think song might be about a boy-girl situation where the boy doesn't like the girl back. The two hang out a lot, but it's like they have never actually "met" each other. They have only seen each other. Talked. And that was it. No real connection was made. At least the boy had no connection. The boy in this song has never really had a grip on getting the girls he wanted, nay any girls. But then comes along a girl who likes him. He doesn't necessarily like her back, but he's sure as hell trying to. "I'm trying hard to let go But my heart, it won't let me love you" and the "I'm right back where I started" Is just saying he's right back at the beginning. The place where he has no chance at anything. And the last verse... Pretty much saying he doesn't want the girl to hurt herself by waiting for him to make a move towards a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. ------ However, it could also have to do with cheating. "Pour yourself a drink, girl Then make one for me" The girl is depressed for what she has done, and the boy is sort of just careless . "We haven't even met yet And I'm sure that we won't" I think this has the same meaning as the "they've known each other, but didn't really know each other." And the 'right back where i started' in this one could mean that this was an on-and-off relationship. "The air in here is shaking every single nerve" The boy doesn't know what to do next. Or maybe he does, but he's just too scared. "I'm trying hard to let go But my heart, it won't let me love you" The boy is confused about the relationship now. More or less, though, he doesn't want to be with the girl anymore. But he's still trying to rekindle the flames, because he knew that there was SOMETHING there, some mutual attraction. "I'm right back where I started Right back, right back" This one could mean that he keeps thinking the situation through. Just before he gets the nerve to make the decision, he backs down. He's unsure as of yet. "Move it on up We're walking on the edge" I think this part means that although we're THIS close to breaking apart, let's try a little harder. Let's forget differences and just try. "Everyone here has demons in their past now" This is actually a pretty interesting point to be made. In retrospect, those times you spent in the house alone. You 'now' know why. The secret is out. But now that the secret is out, everything you've thought of as right is tainted. "Move it on up You're walking on the edge Everyone here has demons in their past now" The other person is now guilty of whatever happened, and everyone else knows about. Pretty much the same meaning. "The only thing worse for you than you is me The only thing worse for you than you is me" Although the girl has a bad life, she is much better off (mentally stable, healthier, etc...) being alone than with the boy. "The life that I've chosen to live Will take your heart and swallow it" pretty much means their lives can't collide gracefully. His schedule is no were near in sync with hers. "The only thing worse for you than you Is to make you wait for me" The boy is going to be gone, the girl is going to want him, the boy is going to say that he is going to come back and is saying, "everything will be alright, everything will be the same". But he knows that nothing will be the same. "That is why we will never meet" And yet still, their lives are so entirely different that they can be barely genuinely connect to each other. |
The Cab – One of THOSE Nights Lyrics | 15 years ago |
yes noodles, there are two different versions. personally, I think the version on RB2 is pretty sick. (: any ways, one of my favorite parts in this song (besides the part where Patrick sings) is the "My flatline inhibition is my ammunition" part. It's pretty simple, but it's nice how they integrated some medical lingo into the mix. :) |
Mayday Parade – Your Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
@ SwimmingInSunDrop. I don't think Derek (the person they're referring to) actually has an accent other than a modern-american-accent (if that's what you would call it...). It's just that his voice is deeper, and sounds very much different than what you would usually hear in today's music. Or in all music, really. I personally really like his voice. However, if he does have a different accent (it obviously does song different, but I don't think you can consider it any one-particular accent like Aussie or Norwegian). If that is a cultural accent though, my bad. Anyways, I think people understand what this song is about. On the surface, at least. |
Jason Mraz – Plane Goes Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
my goodness, Rinse It Away has that sort of attitude that just seems to angers me. It's just that he acts as if what he says is 'law' or absolute. That there is no other which way. Anyways, sure, this song can be about Flight 93. Know what else it can be about? It can be about every single 'flight' there has ever been. To me, personally, this song is about pretty much what Blowsdaughter said (SP?). |
