Tigers Jaw – I Saw Water Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"When my emotions ran unopposed, I felt just like Brian Jones" Brian Jones was the founder and guitarist for the Rolling Stones. "His main instruments were the guitar and the harmonica, but he played a wide variety of other instruments. His innovative use of traditional or folk instruments, such as the sitar and marimba, was integral to the changing sound of the band. He was originally the leader of the band, but Mick Jagger and Keith Richards soon overshadowed him, especially after they became a successful songwriting team. Jones developed a serious substance abuse problem over the years and his role in the band steadily diminished. He left the Rolling Stones in June 1969 to be replaced by Mick Taylor, and died less than a month later when he drowned in his own swimming pool." |
Transit – Stay Home Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This song's probably about a falling out of a relationship that the writer realizes he must move on, because she doesn't have the same world views or vision as him. It's an amazing song! |
Transit – Rule of Nines Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The Chorus of this song is so powerful, so catchy and pure emotion. |
Transit – For The World Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is such a touching song. I don't know if this is supposed to be a happy or sad song, but regardless, there's a lot of emotion in this and the instrumentals are very well though-out too. It could be about the writer's mother but I'm not sure. |
Tigers Jaw – I Was Never Your Boyfriend Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"But you're in bands together" I can't help but imagine this being about Brianna (the female in the band), but it wouldn't make much sense. Many guys (and girls too) have felt this though, where "best-friends forever" isn't exactly what you were hoping to be. You always will be there, because you love them, "Worst part of my existence, Is you can call whenever, but I can't wait forever." |
Tigers Jaw – Lodging Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This sounds like it's a song that depicts a story, perhaps a book, but I don't know what it's about. I'll have to reexamine this. It's so awesome though! |
(+44) – Chapter 13 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh and I just looked up "broken glass on porcelain" on Google and found that porcelain is used to break glass when breaking into cars and what-not. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=632404 |
(+44) – Chapter 13 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
You are amazing. |
Matt & Kim – Daylight Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeah I figured that it was about just living the life without money and not caring. "I hope that someday I'll see without these frames" I did feel that he could be talking about picture frames. Like if someone looked at a picture of the Eiffel Tower and thought "I hope that someday I'll see it myself, without the frame." |
The Matches – Scratched Out (Track 11) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Well despite the fact that this song "is about nothing", I still feel like there's a lot that a listener can take a lot from this, and there are a lot of patterns and themes that show up. Right now, the part that really interests me is: "Her heart is a machine" Just the archetype that separates the human heart from a machine really shows that the narrator's perspective is that she is cold and possibly falls in love with the person that is most convenient and/or most beneficial to her own survival. That's just my thoughts, -Sean |
The Matches – More Than Local Boys Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Wow I've just recently gotten into this band and when I heard this song, I heard the "Shake! Shake! Shake!" part and realized that Metrostation took that hook from this band. Interesting to learn. |
Four Year Strong – On a Saturday Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The verses in this song sound so awesome. I notice there's a lot less differentiated singing and more gang vocals. It's very energizing!! |
Angels and Airwaves – The Flight of Apollo Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I don't know about you guys but I was taken by surprise with the pitch drop at "god's coming around". I think it was a bit of a joke too, because they're trying to tell their audience through their music is for real now, it's not going to be like the last two albums. No offense intended in the last statement. AVA brought their music to the next level with this album. |
Angels and Airwaves – Some Origins of Fire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh my... A culmination of all their past songs... |
Angels and Airwaves – Letters to God, Part II Lyrics | 14 years ago |
That's so awesome that they have a continuation of the Box Car Racer song. LOVE has renewed my confidence in this band! |
Title Fight – Memorial Field Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is such a great song. I'd debate whether or not the "you said" belongs at the end of the first verse or the beginning of the second. It sounds like he had to make up things on the spot to cover up his feelings and how she killed him right then and there. |
Motion City Soundtrack – Skin and Bones Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It's definitely depressing, but the tone somewhat contradicts the lyrics. It has a hint of hope in it. The chorus is simply amazing, AND amazingly simple. |
Four Year Strong – Beatdown In The Key Of Happy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I almost feel bad for the people who have not yet discovered this amazing band. True, these guys are definitely getting more and more popular, but with their highest comments/song being 17 currently... There's definitely going to be a boom I'm sure. |
Four Year Strong – Sparkle Motion Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It definitely didn't occur to me that this really was a concept interpretation of Donnie Darko (though I definitely caught the original Sparkle Motion referense) Turning back time Ghost Burning down his privacy |
Four Year Strong – It Must Really Suck To Be FourYearStrong Right Now Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is great!! I want to consider this Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die Pt II. I'm very excited both to see these guys this weekend and to get the new album!!! |
Motion City Soundtrack – Hysteria Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The synth almost sounds like Hysteria-Muse bassline too haha. Really great song, the lyrics are difficult to decipher at first glance, but the instrumentals are definitely catchy. |
Motion City Soundtrack – Stand Too Close Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This sounds to me like a song about a man who has had a pretty bad past with his relationships, to the point where he doesn't trust his partners. He's too afraid of standing too close and he won't commit. |
Motion City Soundtrack – Delirium Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song caught my ear instantly when I started hearing it. The verse is very catchy and amazing. There's a stain, there's a stain, there's a stain on the floor... |
Title Fight – Symmetry Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song, great lyrics and composition, it really reflects the emotion. The meaning is pretty straightforward. I really like the metaphor "You broke me like a mirror, seven years keep adding up." The "Walk barefoot through the glass--not a single cut" basically means that he's completely shattered and she just walks all over him and he can't do anything about it; what she did does not hurt her, and he can't do anything to get back at her. |
Motion City Soundtrack – Worker Bee Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I am so pumped to purchase this album!!! Mark Hoppus has really done a great job at sharpening this already amazing band! Definitely a song I'm not gonna put down for a while :) As for the meaning, it sounds to me like the boyfriend has done everything he possibly could to keep his girl happy, but he's still losing her ("Now that my words don't quite do what they should"). The worst part is that he never saw it coming, ("It went from good to fucked up and over"). Unfortunately, he's been a good little worker bee, he deserves a gold star; Will he get it? Not likely... :\ -Sean |
This Time Next Year – Alex in Wonderland Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is the first song by them I've gotten into. The chorus has an awesome melody to it. I'm looking forward to exploring these guys a bit more. Song Meaning- I'm thinking this is about a guy who has just recently gotten over/come to his sense about his ex. ((I'm working up the guts/to say you weren't enough)) She's a crazy, manipulative woman (your ruse and cigarettes, your lack of sensibility) (I know it's not in my head) who is immature and is headed toward a bleak future. It's basically a situation where she broke his heart, but he realizes that she's screwed without him and that he's better off on his own. (your love's pariah) -Sean |
Coheed and Cambria – 33 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Winged Duality is amazing. That's all I can say. Purely fantastic explanation. |
(+44) – 155 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
NMR- That sounds very plausible, I hadn't thought of that until after reading your comment. It totally sounds like dialogue, just read the lyrics and listen to the tone of Mark's voice and you can tell that there are two different voices struggling. And the final stanza uses both voices. |
Four Year Strong – Bada Bing! Wit A Pipe! Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I believe that they could be singing, Turn around and cross the line you so casually walk between function and fashion (Tame the Whining) Are you dressed to kill or dressed to impress? (Oh, the timing) Don't act like you can do better than this |
Four Year Strong – Bada Bing! Wit A Pipe! Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I really wanna know some of the lyrics for the backing vocals, Like when they sing "Are you dressed to kill or dressed to impress? Don't act like you can do better than this" |
Kanye West – Supernova Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Great song!!! I believe the meaning of the song that the guys are expressing is that they have been trying to impress a woman with money, and seeing as it doesn't work- they can't afford to anymore- they feel like becoming a supernova: in other words, doing something so bold/stupid/attention-getting that the woman they are after can't help but turn her head, even if this means the end of the man himself. |
New Found Glory – Truck Stop Blues Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ambiguous double-meaning for "state" |
New Found Glory – Listen To Your Friends Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I really like it for its instrumentals, but (I could just be over-critical) it sounds a little too poppy and I just don't really like how straightforward the lyrics are. Go ahead and scold me, I don't mind. |
New Found Glory – Don't Let This Be The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sounds kinda like a blink-182 twist, I don't know if anybody else can hear this, I like it, it's neat :) |
Four Year Strong – If He's Here, Who's Running Hell Lyrics | 15 years ago |
So catchy! I hope FYS gets popular, apparently they only tour the east coast right now, maybe they'll get popular on the west oast and come to California some day? |
New Found Glory – Don't Let Her Pull You Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song really stuck out to me, probably from the irresistably catchy chorus-line :D. I think the guitarist who sings a portion of this song is really good, I never really paid a lot of attention to NFG, but hearing that Mark Hoppus was producing this one perked my ears a bit. I hope this turns into a single! -Sean P.S, what does this verse mean? "I hope that this isn't a sign of things to come I'll kill myself for blaming you Please tell me now Is this a sign of things to come?" |
Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Now that blink-182 is back, I'm hoping that they will be the top band on the B-Catagory again!!! I'm so happy! |
Box Car Racer – Cat Like Thief Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Simplest Song EVER. 3 chords. Drum Loop. Repetitive Chorus Lines. Genius though. Powerful lyrics and amazing vocal combination. These were the glory days... |
Cute Is What We Aim For – Teasing to Please (Left Side, Strong Side) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Dude one of my really close friends sang this song at a School Talent show when he first transferred to my high school and it was the first week of school, nobody really knew him, including me, but when I learned he liked CIWWAF, I was like... Wow, this guy know's his shit. He was really good and it totally reminds me of him. It makes me sad because he had to go to Australia with his family's business :\. I miss the guy.. |
Britney Spears – Unusual You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The intro to most of her songs are so catchy! I love the intro in this one, it's nothing special, I learned it on the bass and it's pretty fun. Anyways this is my favorite song on her album because the vocals are really intense with the harmonies and it has a grat atmosphere. I'm not much for Britney but this is a major exception, some of her other songs are just too... I don't know how to describe it. I wanna say punchy. Womanizer? Yeah. Anyways. Great job Brit! -Sean |
Blink-182 – Untitled Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is such a powerful song, it's definitely worthy of being their untitled song, Mark does awesome background harmony too :) !!!!Speechless!!!! |
Blink-182 – Asthenia Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is possibly the most under-appreciated song by Blink-182, I love this song so much, I wish the intro wasn't so long though. The effects with the delay are simply amazing! The riff is also one of the catchiest I have ever heard, I dunno, I just wish more people took some time to listen to this one. I hope I won't forget you!! |
Blink-182 – Feeling This Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The Outtro to this song, according to recent interview with Mark Hoppus, is inspired by various songs on the Beach Boys' Album: Pet Sounds. |
