Radiohead – How to Disappear Completely Lyrics | 13 years ago |
sometimes i just want to dissapear, sometimes i want other to acknowledge me, sometimes i don't want to feel so small anymore. i always feel like i am the smallest thing. unheard. hidden. lost. alone. suffocated. silenced. shut away from society and others lives. closed out. isolated. abused. blamed. |

Radiohead – How to Disappear Completely Lyrics | 13 years ago |
some facts: ".The lyric "I'm not here, this isn't happening" in "How to Disappear Completely," were taken from Michael Stipe's advice to Yorke about coping with the pressures of touring." [1] "Radiohead unveiled new songs on the tour, including what was then known as "How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found",[16] but the band had difficulty recording them." [1] "Thom: (when asked about the meaning of the line 'I float down the Liffey'): "I dreamt i was floating down the liffey and there was nothing i could do. i was flying around Dublin and I really was in the Dream. the whole song is my experiences of really floating."" [3] "Being a star is not as attractive as we might think. The song recalls Thom’s horror at being followed around Dublin by hordes of fans, when ‘OK Computer’ suddenly went stellar, and Radiohead graduated from small halls to huge concerts. ‘I’m not here, this isn’t happening’ is a ‘mantra’ (apparently courtesy of Michael Stipe), as means of 'putting the shutters down'. Repeat it enough times, and all those people will go away. The floating down the Liffey part comes from a dream. The setting of Dublin for this song makes one think of Joyce's epic 'Finnegans Wake', which begins with a trip down the Liffey." [4] "The line "strobe lights and blown speakers, fireworks and hurricanes" probably refers to the Glastonbury concert, which Thom describes thus in Renaissance Men: "When we turned the lights on the audience, it was suddenly dawned on me that actually everything was alright. That it didn't fucking matter whether the speakers blew up....There was a point where I did walk off, but I turned back. And then the fireworks went off. Literally. It was bonkers"" [4] "Earlier live versions included the following lines near the beginning of the song: I know what I've seen You pulled me up Threw me back again" [4] [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_A [2] http://www.nepasavaler.net/songs/howtodisappearcompletely.htm [3] http://web.archive.org/web/20070926225126/http://www.citizeninsane.eu/htdcquotes.htm [4] http://home.att.ne.jp/air/tony/radiohead/Kid_A_interpretation.htm#how to disappear completely and never be found |

Radiohead – Nude Lyrics | 13 years ago |
dont get any big ideas theyr not going to happen well you make plans.. and you go straightforward.. but not that fast.. no.. youre gonna take it slow.. one step at a time.. but continuously you will do what is in you mind... you paint yourself white (innocent.. like this time its the one..) (i will pretent to be innocent, i will pretent to be everything to this person, absolutley everything) you act like you have found the one... and fill up with noise (?) therell be something missing(?) now that you found it (you pretent to finally found the one.. but you now.. youve given up searching.. you just take this person, just like that, without any reasons... now that you feel it (you pretent to feel love, happiness because you need it badly.. but in reality you dont feel love you betray your own values with this action. you've gone off the rails (well this time you dont give shit anymore... you disregard your own morals, values) you go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking (i will pretent to be innocent, i will pretent to be everything to this person, absolutley everything) you act like you have found the one.. but in reality.. you somehow feel you just drag this person down... but you dont give a shit anymore.. (you will go to hell, because you know your problems, your failures, your past, the things you have done wrong still there is this person, that does not know you at all, and you still.. act like.. you like this person so much....) |

Kele Okereke – Rise Lyrics | 13 years ago |
the boxer is an album in which kele treats the issue of fightig on one's own... in rise the person kele talks to ought to realize that in spite of the severe grief s/he feels there is so much more potential in him/her. s/he tried to stand on ones own, s/he saw a few glimpses of what was to come, what was his/her own path, but s/he also felt loss, grief... then the im taking over part.. its really something to dance to... to let out everything on the dance floor... so its more or less a way to make people dance and be happier... |
Kele Okereke – Rise Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Brothers sisters come with me (into the light) x2 Brothers sisters can't you see (into the light) x2 Don't lose sight of what you saw You know you can better than you were before Brothers sisters can't you see That you are stronger than you think You are stronger than you think x2 You are strong Raise those arms that once were broken and put down the grief Did you think your time was gone (into the light) x2 Did you think your hard work rode (into the light) x2 Don't lose sight of what you saw You know you can better than you were before Brothers sisters can't you see That you are stronger than you feel You are stronger than you feel x2 You are strong Raise those arms that once were broken and put down the greed (I'm taking over) x13 But you are stronger than you think You are stronger than you think x2 You are strong Raise those arms that once were broken and put down the green ("Rise" in background over some choruses) |

or talk about it to a closed one, and then leave it behind you... i dont know... |
Kele Okereke – Yesterdays Gone Lyrics | 13 years ago |
what it means to me, well its clear. the golden years of life itself, the potential that is here when you are at the peak of your life. even if you have gone through tough times, even then, i suggest there are upsides. maybe, you've gotta try, to forget yesterday's sadness, just forget it, leave it behind you... |
Kele Okereke – The New Rules Lyrics | 13 years ago |
the "please hang up and try again" part maybe its an allegory of a short period where you failed already, a period where you act in routines. maybe kele wanted to express that after his fire dimnished (burned away all my desire), some moments or aspects of life turned into something that requires new rules. |
Kele Okereke – The New Rules Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i'd say he lets go of some ideas in his head, some ambitions that made sense and i guess he accepts some things that will never influence much in the world. "its all right, theres nothing to prove anymore..." (i am 25, but i realize this phase sucks.. wanting the energy you still have to put into somthing constructive... but i will accept it in the end that... some expectations and dreams will stay with me, maybe till the end life huh?) |

the voice in the beginning of the song says clearly: A loved one laid his head in her lap, the roses fell to the floor and the world stood still. |
