this song is defintely a joke (for the most part) because there is a SHITLOAD of thirdwave ska bands who definitely aren't commercially popular and just play for the hell of it (and maybe a small record deal). and besides, when this was written there was no LTJ or RBF it was more of the originators of third wave ska like The Toasters. although it might be talking about second wave/two tone stuff like The Specials (hmm maybe, since it mentions A Message to You Rudy). if they were serious, they would've chosen a genre with a much more commercial following as opposed to ska which is mainly underground
