I thought a lot about human nature -- mine really, and the way it had been portrayed to me in my childhood. I felt frustrated with the self-defeating conception of humanity I was presented with. I definitely agree with the earlier comment that the first verses are in reference to Aaron leaving the band, but the rest of the song seems to go on to define "amanaemonesia". Amanae itself refers to a "New Age" massage technique which harnesses emotional release. I think, with that in mind (and certainly the lyrics), "amanaemonesia" could be interpreted as the feeling of elation following an Amanae session; hence the chorus. |

Also, I'd like to say that the "new school bus assistant snuck in change" line should be "the new school bus assistant stuck in charge," both times. |
