I always assumed that in the line "you'll find more posies in the used bin than people at the show," posies meant posers. Like people who pretend to dig the genre, but aren't seriously committed to it. Although, since twee is such an esoteric branch of indie music, that interpretation might be a stretch, now that I think about it... |

Until I got Disk One, I always assumed that the chorus was "shoebox of life" -- imagine my surprise. The woman isn't necessarily married, though ... just older. I love it even more, understanding its meaning. Man, though, what a change a word makes... |

Isn't the line at the end of the second verse "God we're making up with sex again"? LoL, I love this song. Sometimes, even though a relationship is emotionally over, the sex is waaaay too good to give up. I love that they wrote something about that. |

Not that we're all diggin' the analysis side of the song, but I totally see this as two people stuck in a dead-end relationship. But y'know, you can't let go of it, because of as of the moment, it's all you have. And which is worse, being alone or suffering? Something waaaay too common in high school. |
