| Magnetic Man – Perfect Stranger Lyrics

Perhaps... BUT the lyrics speak of the singer stepping into a crowd, touching and hearing music, so I find it hard to see the connection to internet dating...
In my opinion, I think this song is about going to a dance club of her liking and having an inkling that something big was about to happen. So she steps out on to the dance floor and a guy swoops in behind her to dance, and what does she do? She keeps on dancing of course! She feels there's an instant attraction, despite never turning around to face her dance partner. Thus, perfect stranger. He is potentially the perfect man for her, but still a stranger to her at this point. :) |

I'm pretty sure at around 3:12 in this song, the female voice in the background is speaking Japanese. My Japanese is poor however, so I can't make out entirely what she's saying. She does talk about wanting both something and nothing. And her speech is formal, not casual which is somewhat odd because formal speaking usually happens in business situations or amongst extremely conscientious speakers. Unless describing her desires is part of her "business transaction" to receive what she wants from whoever she's talking too. It's clever, that's all I can. |

There's something about this song... It makes me not want to give up on my current relationship and still hold on to love. Because like what the title of this song says, everything will be "alright". Fights and arguments always happen and the high-strung emotions attached to these moments often die down overnight whereupon when you wake up in the morning after spending the night together with that person, everything is "alright" after all. You do live forever.
I swear. Jay is a genius sometimes. |

| Jamiroquai – Little L Lyrics

The song appears to be about a couple who are not getting along too well a the moment. This may have happened due to one or both persons in the relationship changing; people are always changing and the person you may have started a relationship with may not the be the same person you end the relationship with. You begin to notice things about the person you've never picked up on before and you begin to lose interest and love each other a little less as time goes by (which is part of the reason why the woman Jay speaks of in the 2nd verse can't believe that their love diminished before they noticed its deterioration).
This song particularly hits home for me since I've been through a similar situation. Both he and I changed and these changes didn't help with our relationship. We became less compatible. We both changed for the better and we both still have feelings for each other, but our love was no where near the capacity of what it used to be. To put in Jay's terms, our Love (with a large L) deflated to just love (with a little L), into a shadow of what it once was. And of course, Jay succinctly captures this unfortunate circumstance within his song. |

To think that "little L" is referring to marijuana (or a leaf as you also mentioned) is a large stretch. You might be reading a little too much into the lyrics. Jay's lyrics tend to be pretty literal, so one reading over the song is sufficient enough to grasp what he's saying. He's not a encryptor. |

I believe that when it comes to interpreting music some lyrics, there is no clearly correct or entirely wrong answer. Everyone thinks differently relative to their life experiences and this deviation in thinking often comes out when interpreting lyrics. Atomicbread, Artslut, and Jrknowsall are all viewing these lyrics with a different lenses. On the other hand, humans are naturally opinionated and I can understand why artslut would disagree with atomicbread but putting down atomicbread doesn't achieve anything especially when the put down is not backed up by a good counterargument. I somewhat disagree with Themaestroapprentice though because just because an analysis is thorough does not make it worthy of praise. A thorough analysis can be just as faulted as a half-ass analysis. |

| Kerli – Love Is Dead Lyrics

I honestly don't think it's a coincidence that she sounds like Bjork in her "All Is Full Of Love", especially in the chorus when she says "Love don't live here anymore" and near the end of the song when she cries out. In her interview she said that Bjork is her all-time favorite artist for her uniqueness and "balls". Therefore, Kerli's "Love Is Dead" could possibly be her juxtaposition of or rebutal to Bjork's "All Is Full Of Love". Bjork's version is happy-go-lucky and the hope in her voice builds and climaxes towards the end, reaching a new high. Meanwhile Kerli's version is broken-down and the heartache in her voice builds on itself before collasping, reaching a new low.
Just throwing this out there. |
