The first time I heard this song it kind of made me uneasy. I'd listen to any other song on the album but I'd skip this one... the grief is so apparent in his voice, and it's really heartbreaking. as for the carpenter and the north star- it is for sure a reference to Joseph and Jesus. Maybe he saw in her a type of forgiveness that he longed for... It's a such a haunting song. |
