Better Than Ezra – Absolutely Still Lyrics 12 years ago
Another great song from Better than Ezra. Not sure what to think of the lyrics, but the singing and production are both melodically comforting and rocked out. However, this song, especially the beginning, sounds very similar to The Calling's Song "Wherever You Will Go". Did they realize this?

Billy Talent – Lies Lyrics 12 years ago
Not sure if this song brings the listener a really good message "lies make it better - lies are forever", but with a bit more interpretation it could mean something bigger. Still it's catchy and fast enough for me to not care about the ill-conceived intentions it might possibly have. This is Billy Talent after all, it's hard to take them overly serious.

Classic Case – Into a Nightmare Lyrics 12 years ago
The meaning to this one is kind of vague, maybe he's just gotten with a girl in his life that's no good for him, but he isn't strong enough to turn his back to her. The production is really mainstream, but not so much that its generic, and it's really easy to get lost in the beat and especially the powerful chorus. This song never gets old. I think this band needs a little more publicity.

Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror Lyrics 12 years ago
Really dig this song. One listen through is enough to make you think the world isn't turning quite as fast, and just make to buckle down and take time to think things through. Michael hasn't had the best reputation in the world, but he put his heart to good use by reminding us that there's a lot wrong with this world, but if we hope to change things and make them better, we need to change ourselves first. We just can't expect other people to do it all for us. A great philosophy attached to a great song.

His singing is phenomenal, it really sounds like he's intertwined with his vocals and singing straight from the soul. The music behind him matches that achievement admirably, especially love the base in the chorus. My only complaint with the song is its length. Much of the last few minutes begin to lose my interest, as the impact usually doesn't last the entire duration of six minutes. Oh well. Still probably the best song from this artist. R.I.P.

The Doors – People Are Strange Lyrics 12 years ago
It's easy to feel all alone when there's nobody there for you, and then start to believe that there's something wrong with yourself. This song captures that feeling of hopelessness without being overly depressing or whinny, actually it comes off as kind of funny. One of the best classics.

Black Tide – Shout Lyrics 12 years ago
This song made a perfect fit for DiRT 2 (which for some inconceivable reasons didn't have in race music), and has quickly become a great song that you can listen to anytime, anywhere. There isn't much lyrical depth, but the grit and power in the production and singing more than make up for this, especially that long and drawn out "Shoooooouuuut!" which never gets old. Rock on!

Better Than Ezra – Desperately Wanting Lyrics 12 years ago
What a striking song for Better than Ezra. I loved the fast paced singing, and how it rocks without compromising a melody. It starts out strong and never lets out. I especially love how he bleeds into the song after the third chorus. I could listen to this for weeks without tiring, true staying power!

Maroon 5 – Never Gonna Leave This Bed Lyrics 12 years ago
I've never liked Maroon 5 before I heard this song. I always found them overrated, overplayed, and they use too many cliches. But I must say this song really impressed me! It's quickly become one of my favorites!

Not too sure what he's singing about, but the cheery and uplifting singing, a stellar chorus that practically begs you to hum along, and the rocked out tone make me forget I've no idea what he's singing about. The song just has this really sharp hook that grabs me instantly, the kind of song I could listen to many times consecutively without getting tired of it. Awesome all the way through!

Say what you will about the lackluster rap attempt, but this line alone "I'm a loser baby / so why don't you kill me?" I can't help but smile when I hear it.

Five for Fighting – Slice Lyrics 12 years ago
Really nice song. Five for Fighting's strong suit has always been making these soulful songs and singing from the heart, whether it be joy or sadness, they never get riled up and crazy. This song's meaning can mean different things to different people, unity, friendship, evolution of the human race, cultures, I just find it really fun to listen to, very good vocals and a production that's almost too sad for its own good. A great song nonetheless.

Blue October – Any Man In America Lyrics 12 years ago
I must admit this album was pretty underwhelming, but this song was pretty good. Justin's obviously going through a tough time, and he vented out in this song with lyrics fueled by anger and heart-ache. I liked how there wasn't much singing as there was rhythmic speaking, and a decent attempt at rap by Ray. C. It's pretty cruel how woman always have the upper hand in court when it comes to battles for custody, but I think I'll just leave it at that.

The problem with this latest album though is it's all about Justin's divorce, and the loss of his daughter. I know he has every right to pour his heart and soul out through his music, but it doesn't make for a very good listening experience for the fans. Here's hoping the next album they can get back on track.

Blue October – Into the Ocean Lyrics 12 years ago
What a wonderful song. This song got me hooked on Blue October. The suicide subject is a touchy one for song writers, and Justin clearly deals with some issues himself, but I love the way he he makes a song here with an empowering and encouraging message but still keeps the beat smooth and silk so you don't necessarily have to be in that frame of mind to enjoy it. That watery undertone just feels so right, and Justin's vocals sound great with it. I recommend this song to most of anyone.

Chris Young – The Man I Want To Be Lyrics 12 years ago
This is good songwriting at its best! The killer opening lines and the noticable distress in Chris's voice really tug at your heart strings. It may be just another heart-ache song, but very rarely has it been this heavy handed. Great song through and through.

Denis Leary – Asshole Lyrics 12 years ago
Hahaha! Denis Leary may not major in music, but this is one of the funniest, and all around best, songs I've heard in a while. Each random joke, peeing on the seat, driving slow in the fast lane, that hilarious poke on handicap people, and that little political rant toward the end, it all never gets old! I've probably listening to this one at least a hundred times, it's just that good!

Lifehouse – Broken Lyrics 12 years ago
This song has all the right makings of a great heart-ache ballad, Jason Wades vocals are top notch and the score behind it sets the mood perfectly. He also puts his fear and dread to great use with mastermind songwriting "I am here still waiting / I still have my doubts / I am damaged at best / though you've probably figured it out". It's hard not to get chills as you listen to it. I just wish he didn't suffer from the horrible spoonerism toward the end at the last bridge, when he says "I may have lost my way now" it sounds so much like "I may have lost my wiener". For that it can be difficult to take the song seriously. Still very good though.

Zac Brown Band – Chicken Fried Lyrics 12 years ago
Geeze this song gets on my nerves, every time I have the displeasure of listening to it. Just some generic country duo singing and mundane, insipid things that have been warn out by hundreds of other singers before them. But despite this song's obnoxiousness, it'll surely climb the charts anyway because country people just love songs like this so much. It's like talent, or lack thereof, aren't a factor at how well you can do on the radio charts anymore. This group is way over-rated.

Crash Test Dummies – Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm Lyrics 12 years ago
It tells three believable stories, a boy's hair turning white after a wreck, a girl revealing birthmarks when she has to change in front of the other girls, and a boy's parents losing it in front of everyone at the church. It's not clear what the Crash Test Dummies are trying to convey with these sad stories, but you can't fault that calm, easy instrumental and the unique chorus. That humming is something you simply won't find in any other song, and that alone makes this one worth listening to.

Spitting Image – The Chicken Song Lyrics 12 years ago
Hahahaha! The song makes me want to pull my hair out, the lyrics make no sense and its so annoying! But it's weird, I can't stop listening to it. If anything, it certainly succeeds in what it's trying to do: parody the typical pop radio and those songs that leach to your mind and keep replaying over and over again. That took some talent, and for that, I applaud the goofy puppets that put this piece together.

Kelly Clarkson – Go Lyrics 12 years ago
It was just stunned the first time I heard this in the Ford commercial. Didn't know what it was called or who was singing it though, and I looked for it tirelessly for a long time. I got lucky and found it on Limewire, and listening to it I was blown away from the very beginning!

Kelly's beautiful voice works wonders with the energetic and rocking beat. It just makes you want to drive really fast, but of course there are reasons for that. The song rocks out loud but not so loud that it loses its charm, and I like that.

I know it was available for download for free at a limited time, but I really think Kelly should have promoted this song more, maybe put it on an album or something. It was damn difficult to find, and I still feel like I only got it because I wanted it just bad enough for it to pop open before my eyes. Oh well, very good stuff here.

Better Than Ezra – I Do Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is simply incredible. It had me from that "Ooooh yeah!" at the beginning. Reason enough to start listening to the band. The message is simple, has faith when you feel down because some else somewhere feels the same way, a simple message of hope and comfort brought to you with exceeding charm and beauty. I could seriously listen to this for another hundred times and not tire of it. Anyone at least vaguely into alternative rock hasn't lived until they heard this.

Gary Allan – Get Off On The Pain Lyrics 12 years ago

Blake Shelton – All About Tonight Lyrics 12 years ago

Madina Lake – Silent Voices Kill Lyrics 12 years ago
Wow what an underated song. I've felt the terror of having panic attacks and voices in my head, but even if I didn't relate to that traumatic experience, I would still say that this is a great song! I can't find fault with anything! Very fast paced, likable production and passionate but edgy vocals. Madina Lake always had this distinct, heavy sound and it works really well here.

It's a shame that this song was never released as a single, because it would probably fly off the charts. If for one find it very, very re-playable, been listening to it for years and it still feels fresh. Very good stuff, could please any fan of heavy rock.

Hawk Nelson – Friend Like That Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm going to admit right here and now that I'm not really down with the whole Christian thing, but still I listen to and enjoy Hawk Nelson and all their songs. "Zero" got me started a couple years ago, but once I heard this song it soon after became my favorite. With a solid energetic beat, fast paced and skillful verses, a shout along chorus, and lyrics describing a friend who is always there for everyone in their lives! How cool is that? I really don't believe they could produce a song this awesome and still be very little known to the general public. They seem to be hiding in the shadows of Skillet. I think they're a good band also, but I listen to more from Hawk Nelson. Especially this song. I had a friend back in 6th grade, we both had really hard times with eachother and kept ending the friendsip over and over again until we both had a three year hiatus from eachother. Finally in 2008 we began talking again, and just one way to prove that our relationship has dramatically improved since those earlier years, he dedicated this song to me on my Facebook prfile using Ilike!

Billy Joel – Tomorrow Is Today Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree. This song is terrific. Nothing that you would want to influence on yourself, but a good song to express a mood of saddness in a cold, cold world when everything in your life is going wrong. Obviously Billy Joel has felt this before, because there would be no way to write songs with such close and intimate lyrics to express emotion. Like GoodOmens had said, Billy Joel once had his own band when he was younger, named Attila, which released one album self-titled back in 1970, and also he was going through a divorce. He tried to kill himself by comsuming furniture polish, which obviously failed, and that's great because we would have missed out of so many big hits if it were to be a success. There is even a song he wrote to help teenagers through suicidal thoughts, called You're Only Human (Second Wind). I encourage you to listen to it immediately after listening to this. You probably won't believe its from the same man!

Hawk Nelson – Fourteen Lyrics 15 years ago
Reading all these comments, I have to agree that this song is about the end of the world. I've only heard this song one time, but knew about Hawk Nelson for years, and it makes since that the album name would be influenced by it. Also, there is such a strong meaning, maybe Jason couldn't come up with a name for the track, so he decided to simply call it "Fourteen".

Blue October – My Never Lyrics 15 years ago
This song really speaks to me. For all my high school years, I was tortured and tormented by the girls all the time. They kept on aggravating me and taunting me with false affection, while others never even looked me in the eyes. I've thought of so many girls, but none of them have ever requitted the love. Others think I'm a whiner every time I mention this problem, often giving me their immature feedback, saying something like "You can't get any pussy!" or "You're gay!". There was no way to make them stop, and all they were doing was adding to the pain and loneliness I was feeling. This song makes me feel better with my lack of relations with women. The way Justin Furstenfeld does the vocals is just amazing, with a spacy tune and sad but heartfelt lyrics. This song is responsible for so many times of comfort when I was worried about what was going on at high school. I really wish I didn't have to download it from Limewire, but my parents don't offer me an allowance and I can't really get a job in my neighborhood, but otherwise I would love to buy the entire "Approaching Normal" album and enjoy the many sides of this terrific band.

System of a Down – Vicinity of Obscenity Lyrics 15 years ago
The article for this song on Wikipedia is a bunch of balogney. Some editor typed that it was only a myth that this song is about sex, which there is some very obvious indicators that it is "Do we all - learn defeat - from the whores - with bad feet?" And like many people on here have already said, it is easily symbolized with the foods mentioned to be sexual parts "bannana - penis" and "Terracotta pie - vagina". And they way the words boom out at you is just like sex: it's going to jump right into your face. I haven't heard of a lot of SOADs music, but I really appreciate this song. It's fun.

The Vines – Spaceship Lyrics 15 years ago
There's a reason the lead singer wrote this song. How many of you know that he has Asperger's syndrome? Basically, mother and brother want him gone because he's not associating with them, "Mother said - Get me out - Brother meant - Get me out". I do agree with the person that said the tatoo meant that he has changed.

At one of his concerts, he spat in someone's face and kicked another, and was soon reported. Once he was taken to a hospital, it was confirmed that he has Asperger's syndrome and therefore all the charges were dropped.

I found this song on Songfacts and downloaded it right away once I realized what it was about. I, too, have Asperger's. It sucks.

Eamon – Fuck It (I Don't Want You Back) Lyrics 15 years ago
I am so glad I stumbled on this song on a list of parodys. I call this the "Jill Shupert song" because it relates perfectly with the experience I had with having my very first girlfriend. I was at the Snowball dance at my school during December 8, 2008. I was a 17 year-old sophmore. This girl that has been in love with me for years, Jill Shupert, asked me out. I had to think about it, because not only was she not the one I liked at the time, and not to be mean but she lacks good looks, but also she was an 8th grader and 13 years old. But I wanted to have my first girlfriend. So I said yes to her, then she hugged me and dragged me around the school cafeteria holding my hand. There was at least four kisses, but she thought I sucked at dancing. I got her phone number, then I came to my friend's house from the dance, shocked out of my mind that I found someone. I never liked her at first, but I began liking her. But as soon as the second day, we began drifting apart. I never even asked to come see her at her house, or her come to mine, because her parents were currently divorcing. Also, two days before Christmas her father said he didn't like me because of my age. Well, I guess I should have seen that coming, but come on! Every time I was near her, it was at church or school, so we were never alone together! None of that mattered, because I wasn't allowed to call the home phone and was left with just calling her cell. I started to notice about a week from then that she stopped calling me, and I was doing all the calling. This didn't annoy me that much until she stopped answering my phone calls. The year 2008 began very shitty for me because one day at school and I already get a note from one of her friends with Jill telling me that "She needs space." What the fuck! She gets all the mother fucking god damn space she'd ever mother fucking want! I get pissed just by looking back at this! Things only got worse because there was a dance coming up, and in the note she told me to go. Hmm. Probably wants to break up with me there. I politely shoved those plans down the crapper and went over to my weekend church camp to see some of my friends. And Sunday, Jill called me up and said we need to break up.

For a long time, I didn't trust any girls to be my one and only. Even worse, my friend Jeremy kept interregating her about why she broke up with me and she bitched "None of your business." I'll also add this guy made a statement the day we got together that it would only last a month, and braggs to everybody about how he was right! Jill was laughing about the breakup, boasting to my brother's girlfriend about how she did it. And coming April, she regretts it. She comes to her senses that everything I've done for her was too good and she can't move on with life without me. So in early April she told one of the guys in my grade on her bus that she missed me. Too bad. And a week after that, she calls me on the phone and asks if her and I can go out again. All I had to say was I wasn't sure. But I never did give her an answer. I didn't want her back because I knew that I'd deal with the same crap that I had to when I dated her before! This wasn't a problem again until she got really clingy, always writing me these little notes after school let out for the day usually, telling me to call her. She took this up a notch further when she started to always want me to sit with her for breakfast. One time this little slut friend of her's named Elizabeth Polly said she hated me and started screaming at me for no reason. This gave me an excuse to avoid Jill. She started crying later in May because I wasn't talking to her! What's her deal? Why is she so obsessed with me? I don't know. I just know her advances to get me back are never going to work.

This song expresses everything that she's done to me and how I feel about her. I love the swearing because it means that real anger is inflicted and rational thinking is over-rid by the anger. Frankee's version is fake, same instruments but different words, and I'm not even bothering to hear it. For the metal heads that complain about the musical melody, shut the fuck up! If you're going to diss this chart-topping hit that everyone will relate to at one point, then get the hell off of Songmeanings! And for those who bitch about the kussing, you too shut the fuck up! Most music has deeper lyrics, but when you're really angry, all there is to think about is "Fuck you!" and you don't give out encyclopedic details about how you feel! You want to hatred to be simple! And who gives a damn if it is a plot in the music industry, if it's a good song and people relate to it, everything else is a load of shit! Especially you, electricalstorm! If you're really just an 8 year-old lesbian girl like the way you sound, then why not headbang to those heart-felt love songs when your girlfriend breaks up with you!? Come the fuck on!

Has anyone ever seen the video for this song? It's about a little elementary boy being in love with a teacher! You pussies that think the lyrics are too harsh should open up to the meaning for a minute, being in love with a teacher sometimes gives you joy, but in the end a relationship with him/her will never be possible and you'll only hummiliate yourself by saying nice things or doing nice things for him/her, when they already have a steady love partner and would be fired or even arrested if they felt the same way about you. It fucking sucks! I had a crush on my JOGS teacher and it put me through so much pain! I call this Mrs. Hayslip's song!
