Tool – Flood Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this is about the general feeling of what it would be like to die if you believed in heaven and you thought you were going there but it starts to disappear because there wasn't one. At least that's how I hear it personally, because I don't think I'm the only one terrified at the disparity of the whole thing. |
Radiohead – Where I End and You Begin. (The Sky Is Falling In.) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I am only going to say how this song relates to my life purely because it means so much to me. Here it goes: So there was this girl that I was really good friends with for pretty decent amount of time. She helped me through a lot of stuff, like this really bad break up with this other girl that I fell really hard for. The break up still effects me to this day and it ultimately effected my relationship with this new girl. Me and her started getting into heavy drugs and one night the events that happened are so similar to this song for me personally it is uncanny. It involved our good friend lucy and our relationship had this "gap inbetween" us because I was still lacking trust from the last relationship. We were walking around and we both laughed about how we both walked and looked like dinosaurs. The sky was lots of colors of course. heheh. but more importantly the last line "where I end and you begin." This was a point in my life where I got lost in drugs for a while, and it killed our relationship. I have always been a bit of a distant person and the drugs only exemplified it. The next part of the song that says "I will eat you alive." and "there will be no more lies." for me represents how the girl before cheated on me and lied to me and it was the only relationship where I decided to be legitimately honest. This next relationship with the girl that probably would have been really good for me was destroyed by myself. I was honest to the point of where I only thought of myself, I was defensive and decided to make it about me this time around. I literally Ate her alive and killed any trace of a bond left between us now. It is shitty because she was such a nice friend. Somehow Radiohead used their magic powers (as usual.) to make this song perfectly fit for me. It is my daily bread. |
The Mars Volta – Copernicus Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I don't know. I love mars volta, but I don't like octahedron. This song can get repetitive. |
The Mars Volta – The Bible And The Breathalyzer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Lol, yes. I can't listen to this song all the way through. |
Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics | 14 years ago |
you guys ruined it for yourselves. It's this simple; I don't like untalented artists, therefore popular music is fine but most of the artists are horrible and their songs are not well thought out at all. Its all for the cash and I don't like ungeniune music. |
Shakira – Whenever, Wherever Lyrics | 15 years ago |
not only is this chick a divine sex goddess but she is a damn good poet. this is not even close to my genre but she is just so damn captivating. |
Mushroomhead – Destroy The World Around Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Your government is in control they'll keep you safe inside your homes Board your windows lock your doors - let freedom ring great wordplay. a beautiful genious way to slap the government in the face. great song. |
Mushroomhead – Our Own Way Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yah hes saying our fatal flaw of wanting the same thing people before us have and keep running in place. when we should pursue a goal that hasn't been pursued before. and go our own way. at the end is the retort to those people who pursued the same goal. you all get lost with everyone else in history. this song is a great instrumental by the way. love the band love this song |
Mushroomhead – Almost Gone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
call me crazy but it almost sounds like somebody or j mann whatever, is drinking away the pains of a relationship and contemplating suicide. hence the broken picture frames he held in his hand when he shoots himself on his matress. and the arguement with himself; this can't be (No choice in sight, where's our right to choose? You can't catch a break so take what you can) (anything to wash it all away!) = suicide. love the band. love this song |
Mushroomhead – One More Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this does sound like a breakup song. but it is the only profound break up song i have ever heard. he says he wants to have one more day to regret the special feelings. which i know (from experiance. :( lol.) that you dont want to forget and move on. thats when music is your best friend. it almost amplifies the emotion but sees you through it safely. as for the other meaning, and i hate to compare a quote from brad pitt to mushroomhead, but in the movie troy achillies says, " it is the gods that envy us, because since our days are limited we enjoy life that much more than they do." another meaning i noted which is a big theme from mushroomhead is the theme of imprisonment or punishment. love this band. love this song |
Tool – Lateralus Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i dont care if there are any haters of this song. they cannot argue that the song is pure art. thats so creative to incorporate a universal mathematical rule into a song. he talks about fibonacci spiral and says lets try to ride it to the end. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been great line. thats what I love about tool lyrics. maynards attitude is generaly that people try to make deeper meanings to lyrics. so he sometimes tries to make them ludacris but music means so much to us for no exact reason. "Swing on the spiral of Our divinity and Still be a human" one of the most intuitive songs i have ever heard. |
Slipknot – (sic) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song could lead a nation to war i swear. i cant find any other song more rage inspiring |
Mushroomhead – Before I Die Lyrics | 16 years ago |
lol. im laughing right now cause the line where he says , "why can't you see?" It sounded like kitchen sink to me. lol. wow i was singing kitchen sink the whole time. no wonder my friend was giving me such weird looks. |
Mushroomhead – Mother Machine Gun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow not that many comments???? this is one of their best songs!!!!! "somehow the greatest point comes without reason, somehow my made up mind, acts without thinking right." what a profound line. somebody should find out some band history to see if any members have been convicted of a crime because thats a huge theme with them. |
Mushroomhead – Solitaire Unraveling Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I have always loved this song. but it takes on a whole new meaning for me now. i got charged with a felony last week and i have been in trouble before and this song just defines how i feel exactly right now. i agree completely with mikeas on the meaning |
Tool – Parabol Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i agree with the sex theory. but more so having another being to hold and let you know that your not alone and there is a meaning to life as long as that other person is there is what i thought it boils down to. this song is so beautifully done in the fact that it can be so profound in a small amount of words. "This body holding me, reminding me that I am not alone in This body makes me feel eternal, all this pain is an illusion " what a profound line! love both of these songs! |
Tool – Opiate Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Mertosai doesnt have to be mad. im shocked that your a tool fan cuz he does bash on society and relgion. but its more so to find the truth. There are two paths you can take, the leap of faith or you can inspect the leap your about to take to see if your not going to fall to your death. i like some people am in the search for truth by any means necessary. and i wouldnt be shocked if after i died all i did was rot in the ground. but this is a good song and the meaning is pretty obvious. |
Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the german language is perfect for saying evil shit. not because of what germans did, but because is all dirty throat noises and shit. and is there anybody who made this recipe? if theres anyone who did they are the most badass true tool fan, lol. you know what? im fucking making this recipe right now!!lol. |
Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 16 years ago |
obviously about weed but its hard to interpret fully. kinda like weed itself. I have no idea what kangaroo done hung the guilty with the innocent could mean. and are these lyrics all correct? house of cards and glass so don't go tossin' your stones around. is awesome poetry tho. its referencing to he that is without sin cast the first stone from the bible and its saying the Government (probably) cant take control over weed or the walls will crumble on them. |
Tool – Vicarious Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is a direct message. no need to explain any meanings. it is a damn profound song. Tool officially owns my soul. |
Tool – Disgustipated Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I also agree on the satan brother thing. and this song would be perfect to listen to before an all out battle royale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Tool – Disgustipated Lyrics | 16 years ago |
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! SNAKE DOCTOR, YOU LOOK LIKE A FUCKING FOOL! HAHAHAHAHA. I qoute" not only is his sermon totaly wrong in so many ways." wow are you fucking retarded? the sermon was a joke, satire. snake doctor is sitting at the computer thinking to himself, "wtf? let the rabbits wear glasses? this song doesnt make any sense! rabbits can't wear glasses! can they???" |
Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is up there as the best songs. wonderfully done song, music and lyrics. I first heard this song in a thunderstorm walking in the rain. it intertwined so well and it was an almost spiritual experiance and i could never find a drug to mimick it. I absolutly love this song. oh and when i listened to it later and heard that the thunder was on the track i just about dropped dead right there. lol |
Tool – Maynard's Dick Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yeh mr. toolsucks. its easy to waste your time and go to the bands worst song and make fun of them. go ahead waste your time. but i'd have to say that if somebody found a serious meaning out of this song that would be hilarious. |
Tool – H. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Madson takes the cake. and i think it has a little tie to religion. and wake up, Nothing is true, most musicians do drugs. but the drugs dont make the songs. the people do. ill admit they help to write songs. but there are a lot of completely uncreative left brained people that do drugs that are still uncreative. not trying to insult everybody just saying that not all the songs have to be about drugs. and this song is one of them. good job madson. tool rocks |
Tool – Sober Lyrics | 16 years ago |
ChaDMcBaDD first off i wanna laugh at you for the name. but dont post anything if you dont like the band. and if you like the song but like a shitty band that leeches off of the "x" generation like Stained. than dont say it, cuz theres a lot of tool fans that would shoot you for a dumb comment like that. anyways, I always go for the meanings I and I alone got from the song and not what the author was thinking. I felt it meant that theres a religious part of us that is looming over our heads because we as humans secretly have doubts about what we believe in. I felt "murder now the path called "must we" was about how jesus's sacrifice makes the old testiment meaningless. and christianity and judism ect.. a hypocrisy. I agree with the interpretations about the jesus whistling part. Every time i have drank i have felt like the chorous of this song the next day. its a good reference for how we feel about intoxication spanned over our lives. i think the second verse is about the depression or self hating tied into alchoholism. sorry this is long but i really love this song. finally what i interpret from this song is how alot of religions have a tie to intoxication and how religion is a hypocrisy and how we all wish we could stay in the "euphoria" feeling during intoxication forever. Tool is awesome |
The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
all these interpretations of this song inspired me to make an account. Ok this is the meaning I see out of this song, before i even knew there was a picture made by his son I always thought that the song was a drug reference AND had a strange tie to a childs imagination. Most people that automaticly rail on the "drug users" (which is usualy the funloving peaceful people that usualy listen to beatles.) dismiss them with the picture. sorry one more thing i noticed is nobody made the tie of the part of the song mentioning "the sun" and an acid trip. which is something that i heard happens to a lot of people on acid where a glowing yellow tone takes over their vision. But this is what i got out of the song... If you keep the picture in mind i think when lennon got the picture he thought it could be a good song. I think when he threw it across the band they realized the acronym and I think thats why the song seems to be pieced together at latter times. but the meaning that i got out of it is how acid is similar to a childs imagination of bright colors and optimistic visuals. it shows how so much of the visuals tie into the overemotional feeling on the drug (ex: the tone of the song after the line 'and your gone') It could show irony in how LSD users are like children or trying to be children again. or it could show how no drug can replace the feelings felt as a child. thats just some things off the top of my head. but the main thing that i have always gotten out of it is that it is a comparison of LSD and the raw imagination of a child. |
