if you think this song is dazzling then you are easily impressed. this, and the songs immediately before and after it, are some of Stars' worst (imo, of course). |

I would call this one a standout on the album if the chorus wasn't so lame. The parts where Torq sings are so much better... |

If you've never been good with change, why would you hate when things stay the same? I don't get it...am I missing something? |

yeah it's definitely "under sunshine pylons we'll meet while..."
sunshine pylons, like beams of light, or columns of light. i think that's right for sure. cool imagery! |

i feel like the words of this song don't do the music justice. creative arrangement, generic lyrics :[ |

fun. – Walking the Dog Lyrics

i wonder if nate wrote this or if jack did...? while the self-abuse recalls the format's "time bomb" the line "how you wanted better love" calls to mind "better love" by steel train. then again, maybe it's a beautiful combination of both guys' work, just like the band! |

I agree - I think it's "all the winds at your eyes" or something like that. Seems to fit better with the movement associated with "when will it stop" |

Annuals – Hair Don't Grow Lyrics

"Dear lord Jesus" in the first line, and then
"I've got family, they sing through the fun
They've got a son too spineless,
Scared now to run
Say you love me, and show me some fun
Tell me that life don't weigh a god damn ton
I swear my back's just a drum"
those are from the lyrics book at least, even though it sounds like "phone" in that one line and not "fun"
anyway, cool song, sounds like he is stuck in a rut, looking for an escape |

haha so now I'm thinking all the over-analysis is merited
i also liked the idea of the aforementioned "being true to yourself" theme |

i did however see an interesting point about how the "selfless fool" (provided he says "selfless" and not "selfish") could be Jesus
makes sense if you agree that the girl in the song is restraining herself/being obedient for religious reasons - i get that. plus it makes the first verse make a little sense if she wishes every Sunday was one more Saturday. she's kind of kidding herself in regards to her faith |

what is with all the Himmler talk? He says "humor" - this song has nothing to do with Himmler or Hitler or any of that
seems to me like a girl he knows is struggling to get out of a failing relationship (or some other draining, crappy life situation) that is totally bringing her down - and he is advising her to take a chance and get away from it all before it's too late. it has a "you could have it so much better" theme
everyone has over-analyzed the hell out of this song - but it's still way awesome, i love it |
