Orbs – Eclipsical Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think it's: Does anyone believe in time? And do you feel the years went by? 'Cause I do. Does anyone believe in age? And do see my skin rip up? 'Cause I do. Does anyone believe in love? 'Cause I've been face to face with her. And I don't. Does anyone believe in God? And do you feel the flames of hell? 'Cause I do. Or maybe I just don't at all. It's really fucking hot in here. |
Mae – The Fisherman Song (We All Need Love) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
So the protagonist is writing a song and can't think of anything to finish it. He also can't sleep. So he decides to watch the sunrise at the shore. There he meets a fisherman who's off to catch some fish and invites the protagonist over. There, the fisherman gives him some ideas for his song. I think the fisherman wants to teach the protagonist something about love, that you always have to think the best of people, and love them even though they are annoying you or even though they're not nice to you: (In the time it takes for you to make love You can break love Waste love And throw it all away But all you need is faith And hope will bring a brighter day And every time that you love Let it lift someone else up If someone tries to burn you Give him your hand and turn and pick him up When he's all alone) The protagonist finds this way of loving very hard: Have some faith you say And hope will find its way? Well I doubt what you're sure of When it seems to me the greatest of these is love But it's so hard to love Well, we were sitting on his boat Our backs to each other He was giving me a little time And all that he said Was hurting my head Wonderin' how to leave the selfishness behind All that I could say is "it's so hard to love... the way that you want me to") When they decide to part, the protagonist realizes what the fisherman meant. To love the way the fisherman told him, we first need love and understanding ourselves. The protagonist might have known this all along, as in the beginning of the song he also says/thinks "We all need some understanding, we need a little love. And at the moment he realizes what the fisherman meant, he also sings (yells) this. So, to love like the fisherman means, we need love and understanding ourselves. So if we give love and understanding to others, they are destined to return it :) |
Enter Shikari – Juggernauts (Album version) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
06-12-2009 Rated 0 I think these are the correct lyrics to the album version. And I know that we still got time But I do not think we're invincible And I'm thinking that it's a sign 'Cause I do not think where invincible Crushing all in its path (x4) Now don't get me wrong, I love what you done with the place I just wish we had a chance to help buid it Instead of just moving into this home of disrepair And expected to work prosper and then share Constantly relying on consuming to feel content But only because we lost touch with this home that we spent Trilions of dollars tainted for our wants and not our needs And now we're growing tired of planting bleary-eyed seeds But I'm not saying that we could do better But given the chance we'd try We'd dig up the earth's now won soil And fill the trench with greedy eyes (imagine imagine imagine imagine imagine imagine imagine imagine imagine imagine) (mate, back in the day that empires made haste to colonise, to claim, to control and to contain, we sat patiently in the future, helpless) Switch! And I know that we still got time But I do not think we're invincible And I'm thinking that it's a sign Deep breaths, clenched fists Here comes another juggernaut! Crushing all in its path(x4) "What the hell will happen now?!" I really don't know man! "We'll do what we've always done: shut our eyes and hope for the best!" NO! We're gonna face this And step out onto the tracks Stare it right in the face Thou shalt not pass!!! And I know that we still got time But I do not think we're invincible And I'm thinking that it's a sign 'Cause I do not think where invincible Crushing all in its path (x4) And I know that we still got time But I do not think we're invincible And I'm thinking that it's a sign Deep breaths, clentched fists Here comes another juggernaut!!! And I know that we still got time But I do not think we're invincible And I'm thinking that it's a sign And I do not think we're invincible And I hope that we've still got time 'Cause I do not think we're invincible The idea of community Will be something displayed in the museum |

At some points, the correct lyrics are: Our proud sciences are but a flickering In one day of the lives of the stars |
Saosin – Seven Years Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this is about Anthony leaving Saosin. I think it's pretty easy to understand when you read the lyrics while having this in mind. The only difficult point I found, was the "Tell him his eyes see too clear" part, but I think that's from the band's perspective. They want someone to tell him he sees too clear about his decision to leave the band. And apart from that the whole "I'm sorry" thing etc. seems obvious that he's sorry to leave the band. |
In Flames – Sober and Irrelevant Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I doubt this is about them changing their sound. I think this is about people who have original ideas and want to express them, but because the current society has such ideals, these people won't express their original ideas, but instead go with the mass and be like everyone else. And they know deep inside that they are pathetic like all others and that they reached rock bottom. They are also hoping for something (a 'saviour') to make it possible for them to express those ideas they have. Just my thoughts. |
In Flames – The Chosen Pessimist Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The first part is explained several times in the comments above me: a person who can't make the right decision about which side to choose (not sure what is meant with the 'sides', but there you go) and is losing faith in if he is ever going to make this decision. ("I'm dying, slowly"). He's obviously pessimistic about the current state of society and finds it hard to fit in. Then the last part. He finds it interesting how many 'trials and tribulations' there are to be able to make the mentioned decision. (This also makes the decision harder, I think) The person is not convinced that he will make the right decision, but if he does, he must be a chosen person (pessimist in this case). He must be THAT special, that he would want his name carved in stone. So it's apparently very hard to get out of his current state. English isn't my mother tongue, so I couldn't quite say it like I really feel about it, but ah well. |

In Flames – Sleepless Again Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Hopeless times approach, just give into the chaos Strangely I find comfort here Impatient and curious of what may come And so the rampge begins Against the headache I can't win Keep me in the dark I Don't want to take part Prefer to be forever numb This part gives me the feeling it's about people who see chaos on the news (for example 9/11), but are have so nothing to do with it (for example live in a total different country), that they find this news quite 'amusing' almost, as if they like it when something happens. Just my idea about that part, can't really get an idea of the other part. |
