Marilyn Manson – Fundamentally Loathsome Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree with minus1 and 3Libras_APC with most. I'd like to add something about the line "shoot myself to love you, If I love myself I'd be shooting you" I'm not good at interpretating lyrics and my English isn't so well, so I'm probably wrong. But for me, this line means being in toxic relationship. The one person is unhappy because of it, and he knows that if he still keeps trying for that second person, he will still feel hurt and frustrated (shoot myself to love you). But if he starts to acts according to what he wants, he would hurt that second person (if I love myself, I'd be shooting you). So this is situation, without a solution good for both sides, he'll have to choose between he and the one he loves.
"when you hate it I know I can feel it, but when you love you know it's not real" -- maybe he doubts in love after all, because he saw that it can be really messy, unstable and that it could bring someone to suffer. Maybe he believes only in hate right now Or maybe when he finally stopped loved that second person,it was relief, and the hate gave him strength to end this relationship and turned out as much better feeling than that love. Or maybe he addresses here to that second person, accuses her of that even when he hates her he cares about her more (or has more feelings to her), than she when she loved him, that her love was always fake, and his hate is far better than her love. Or maybe he just suffers for something what I have too - I don't know if you know that feeling? Having this impression, that only when you sad or angry, you really feel real and alive?

IAMX – Song Of Imaginary Beings Lyrics 16 years ago
I am somewhere between cakeY's and whatshe_said's interpretation. Both of interpretations are very good, I think, and probably better than mine.

I think that song is about being sexual deviant or maybe, if "deviant" is too strong ephitet, maybe about having anormal sexual needs. The girl sees that she have different sexual needs than others and she cannot deal with it, because people around her don't accept it. Maybe she has moral or religous problem with it. She can't find support in religion wich condemn her and she can't find in family which throw her away. "She can't find a lover" who would understand her different needs and who would satisfy her, so "she'll fasion one", she'll imagine lover, she'll escape to unreal world, world of her own fantasy. And later, she's too emotionally involved in this, she cannot come back, so she "disappeared". She doesn't want to come back to world which throw her away. She probably suffers from that kind of life, and she doubts in love. I know, my whole interpretation is too complicated, and that probably wasn't that what chris corner meant, but that's just what this song means to me.

P.S. I'm sorry if my english is wrong.I don't use that language usually in my country. Anyway, I hope that my post in understandable.
