It sounds, to me, like this is about being high on acid or some type of drug, and about how 'unreachable' you are while high on the drug. How it feels like you're floating in space, and how color is a big part of it. 'It's got color waves following me'. And when she says, 'i need to spend some more time with you, there's nothing more new on the news', I think she talking about how with drugs, it's always fun and exciting, versus the real world where everything seems depressing and repetitve. Also, it could be about someone who has given their life to drugs, and has lost everything to them. The part about the phone lines being down could mean that the person stopped caring about everything, so their phone lines got shut off due to them not paying for anything, or caring. And when she talks about 'can I introduce you to my point of view', she means the person is trying to convince others that their drug-lifestye is amazing, and they're used to everyone thinking that the drugs are bad (hence the 'there's nothing new on the news' part) Just my interpretation! |

I looked up the sign Aquarius, wondering if orange was the sign's "special color", but no luck, the special color is turquoise! As for the 666 thing...Marilyn Ferguson wrote a book called The Aquarian Conspiracy, and the symbols on the cover are said to mean 666. The book, in summary by one of the reviewers, was: "Ferguson's idea was that the children of the '60's would introduce new ways of relating to different issues, challenging the old heirarchies of work, church, and home life. This would come about as the result of a kind of accidental conspiracy - different people in different walks of life individually pursuing the same philosophies. The result would be a new age defined by 'Transpersonal philosophy' and 'holism'." WAY out there of me to suggest, but maybe this had to do with it? I doubt it myself even though, so I'm probably wrong! |

In a recent interview that I read on PerezHilton.com, this is what Lady Gaga herself said the song means! "The record is about a girl who likes to have sex with the lights off, because she's embarrassed about her body. She doesn't want her man to see her naked. She will be free, and she will let her inner animal out, but only when the lights are out. The Lady refers to the specific "Around her kiss is a vampire grin/ Moonlights away while she is howling at him", which mean: "She doesn't feel free without the moon. These lyrics are a way for me to talk about how I believe women and some men feel innately insecure about themselves all the time. It's not sometimes, it's not in adolescence, it's always. It sounds like a simple case of someone being fascinated by another person. In this case, I'm guessing one girl (Allison) is fascinated with a somewhat gypsy-ish girl. I think this is about waking up with someone you slept with, since you got so intoxicated and didn't know what you were doing. "i don't hate you or want you enough to wake you " She doesn't dislike the guy, but doesn't care about him enough to wake him up and try to get to know him "there's a crack in the window, return of the key in ignition " She leaves, in her car "so if you freeze tomorrow come back lucky we said as your eyes were closing" She's remembering them talking about like "wow this is fun, but we're drunk so we might not actually like each other. If we still are into each other tomorrow, we can always see each other then" as they were falling asleep. And the lucky part, I think it's because they both felt lucky to meet someone they were so into. But they were drunk and she realizes that the next morning, she doesn't care for him at all. Sorry that probably made NO sense but that's just what the song made me think of haha |

I think this is about a girl who was very confident and forward with guys, and she liked him. He liked her a little too, but already had a girlfriend. One night though, she's with him and dancing and such, and then makes a move on him ("As I recall, I know you love to show off, But I never thought that you would take it this far"). He gives in, and they do some stuff. But the paparazzi catch them, and the girlfriend finds out. Now he is begging for her back. Just a guess. I think I'm wrong though cuz it doesn't explain the material girl part. |

I think the reason Timabland ruined this is 1. You associate him with meet-on-the-dance-floor-and-hook-up-promiscuous-girl songs. So it automatically ruins the vibe of the song. 2. She was singing about things that are actually meaningful, and then he comes in and talks about hooking up. RUINED. |

For the video, I think the "hole" represents her, the one in the ground I mean. Like it represents the hole in her stomach. And the things she puts into it - bugs, animals - represent the drugs she is doing. Each animal/bug is another time doing them. And so as she does more and more, the hole in her stomach grows, symbolizing her addiction. And she needs more animals/bugs to "feed" the addiction/her hole. Just a guess! |
