to me this is not about suicide AT ALL. my idea is that Thom sings from a position of a person who gives up not on life in general, but on caring.Now that hes taking the easy life, of no surprises and no effort whatsoever.Hence the concept of whole Ok computer album-it gives pictures of a modern life, speed and all that.-in this song Thom "decides" to live quietly and gives up on caring about "big things".Pretty house, pretty garden-now that he'll stick to this.Of course there is plenty of IRONY in those lyrics. |

SpinelessAndSublime- most of sites show lyrics same as those put here,so its probably correct and exact.Jubarbosa-have Brian ever made a meaningless song?huh, i think not;) i dont know why, must be my issued mind, but somehow Jeff Buckley came to my head, prolly bc when i searched at myflashfetish for Kangaroo died, Buckley's song Kangaroo were next to it.Ugh...there is coffin, then waters..what if?well, just my twisted drunken idea!above all-its superb song. |
